Vintage plastic backed diapers + convert ups

I've been temped lately to buy some vintage plastic backed size 5 diapers off ebay. 1 reason being to keep one for my collection (i keep one diaper of everyone ive tried.) another reason is i want to try to get that nostalgia of the diapers i use to where back in the early 90's when i was a baby. i have a pair of convertups that makes most baby diapers fit. my question is has anyone tried convertups with plastic backed baby diapers. will it work the same as cloth backed baby diapers or will it tear.

Just be sure to check that the diaper has Velcro tabs, convert ups won't work without Velcro.
