About TenaTena History [2]SCA, of which TENA is a subsidiary was founded in Sweden by Ivar Kreuger in 1929 and is now one of the world’s largest paper and packaging groups. SCA has about 53,000 employees working in around 50 countries. Apart from hygiene products, SCA also works with forest products – wood, paper, pulp, and packaging. In the 1970's SCA started manufacturing health care products, and in the past decade merged them with the TENA brand name. With the creation of SCA Hygiene Products in 1998, the company controls 26% of the global market. Presently it is the world leader in products for bladder weakness. TENA products are available for men, women, and children, however a large majority are produced for adults. There is only one brand avaliable for teenagers at the moment - TENA Specialty Briefs. There is also a selection of pads, slip-on undergarments, and briefs. Products(Unless noted, these products are available at many international locations, however none have been confirmed.) UnisexUnderwearTENA Underwear resemble large pull-ups. While similar to diapers, they slip on rather than being taped. Ultra Plus: For light to moderate bladder weakness, a very discreet product with odor protection. Available in Small/Medium and Large sizes. Super Plus: -US Only- For heavy bladder weakness, these are not quite as discreet as the Ultra Plus, but can absorb more. Available in Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large sizes. TENA Flex: Designed for complete loss of bladder control, this product uses double elastic waist straps and a large absorbent pad that covers both front and back. The Air Dry layer is the main feature of this product, as it allows for air circulation to help the skin. BriefsBriefs are very similar to the TENA Underwear, but usually feature more characteristics of diapers rather than pull-ups. TENA Day Regular Pad: Designed for moderate loss of bladder control during the daytime. They are meant to be worn with mesh or knit pants. TENA Youth Brief: A diaper designed for teenagers and large children with moderate to complete loss of bladder or bowel control. For this diaper, urine dispersion is increased and absorbency is increased. There is also a wetness indicator that tells the caregiver or wearer when the diaper needs to be changed. TENA Belted Undergarment: Designed for moderate loss of bladder control. Features re-usable straps that can be used with a large absorbent pad that stretches from front to back. It resembles a diaper, but with straps on the sides. For MenPadsTENA for Men: Pads designed for light to moderate loss of bladder control. Similar in shape to the pads for women, but made specifically for a male body. The TENA for Men pads generally have a more triangular shape than other male guards and are designed for a more anatomical fit. They are available in two levels of absorbency, however many retailers will only carry one level. For WomenPadsTENA DriActive Liners: These pads are designed for very light loss of bladder control. TENA DriActive Slender Pads: These are the thinnest pads Tena carries for women. They are designed for stress incontinence caused by sneezing, coughing, laughing and so on. These pads can be folded and stored in purses as well. TENA DriActive Plus Pad: This pad replaces the old TENA Thin Pads. Designed for light loss of bladder control, these pads are also designed to be more discreet and quiet using a cotton-like exterior. TENA Extra Pads: These pads are designed for light to moderate loss of bladder control. They have high-rising leak guards to help prevent possible leaks. TENA Extra Plus Pads: These pads are designed for moderate but frequent loss of bladder control. Its core is more absorbent in order to pull urine away from the skin quicker. Knit & Mesh Pants: Used to 'hold' the pads in place as they are more snug/body conforming than the average underpants. Body Wash & Shampoo Wash Cream: In bottles or tubes. Washcloths: Similar in concept to baby wipes but larger in size. Underpads: Used on chairs or beds to prevent leakage (which does occasionally occur) from staining chairs cushions or mattresses.
