Procedure
Note: These directions are modified from the directions for making diapers for newborns through toddlers. Some adjustments in measurements may be necessary for a perfect fit! How to fold Prefold Diapers1. Lay the prefold diaper flat.
2. If diaper is too long, fold up front to fit
4. Spread open back of diaper (slight V shape) for maximum coverage
You can then cover with a diaper cover and/or plastic pants. Making disposable diapersThis is a diaper that can be used once and uses almost no skills and a minimal amount of products that would be noticed missing. It can be as thick, thin, loud, or quiet as you, the maker, want. Required Supplies
3: Fold the towels you rolled out accordion style to produce a two by one square rectangle. After that, tape the rectangle of paper towels you rolled out onto the three towels you put out earlier in a parallel fashion
Optional: Making a stuffer or diaper doubler out of some extra towels helps. To make the stuffer, First roll out a some paper towels (Depending on how thick you want, this number can vary). then fold them accordion style into a one by one square, then fold the square in half so you have a small rectangle. Place the stuffer towards the front of the diaper (for guys) or towards the middle (for girls) and tape it over the other parts of the diaper. Optional 2: Paper towels can be a tad uncomfortable to sit on for extended periods of time. This may be solved by lining the inside of my paper towel diapers with toilet paper. Just roll out some strips and tape them on evenly.
4. Take the bag you had reserved out, and open it up. Then cut small leg hole into each of the sides (If the leg holes are smaller than your legs diameter, this is good. The bag will stretch out and form a tighter, more watertight seal around your leg) 5. Attach the paper towel part of your diaper to yourself, either by holding it between your legs, or just taking a strip of tape across the front of it and adhering it to your person. 6. Insert your legs through the holes in the plastic bag and pull it up over the paper towel part of your diaper. Be sure not to tear it, but stretching it slightly is a good idea. 7. Using your tape, begin by attaching a long strip around your waist, possibly multiple times. Be sure to attach it firmly, and be sure that it fits snugly around your waist above the paper towel part. Then attach one strip of tape around each of your legs snugly. If the plastic bag is rather loose in the middle area, tape a strip running from the strip around your waist in the front, run it between your legs, and secure it tightly on the waist strip in the back. Additional tape can be added where ever you need it; try experimenting a bit with it. |
