ViewsDrynitesFrom ADISC Answers Wiki(Redirected from Goodnites)
Drynites (GoodNites in America) are disposable diapers which mimic underwear, manufactured by Kimberly-Clark (makers of Huggies diapers and Depend Briefs), for children/young teenagers with bedwetting problems. They are available in supermarkets and pharmacies. They are very popular with newer or younger TBs as they are readily available in larger shops in most countries.
Product namingIn the United States, these are known as Goodnites. They are referred to as Drynites in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. The Drynites Sleep Shorts product is also known as Goodnites Boxer Style in the U.S. Drynites and Goodnites are identical in design and build, including the printed pattern on the front and back. Both of these products are produced by Kimberly-Clark, the manufacturer of Huggies. Both brands have a Boy and Girl version. In Singapore, and possibly elsewhere in the world, there is a unisex version of Goodnites that are sold. About these diapersAppearance- The boys designs have had quad bikes, footballers, and dragsters. The girls designs have had flowers, butterflies and ballerinas. In the boys Drynites, the absorbent material is mostly in the front. In the girls, most of the absorbent material is in the middle. The boys version also has extra room in the front for the male anatomy. To some, the girls version of Drynites is recommended for men due to the provided protection on the bottom for those who choose to place it "face down". Goodnites are very similar to Kimberly Clark's Pull-Ups product in that they can be pulled up and down like underwear instead of being taped-on. As well Boy and Girl versions, there are also Drynite sleep shorts. The sleep shorts are much more like traditional nappies compared to the other Drynites because of the lack of a cloth cover and the lack of a printed design, but they are covered with a blue or pink material to make them look more like shorts. Some people have reported that they are smaller than the comparable "brief" style. They are a solid blue/green for boys and a pink for girls. The outer covering is cloth-like to look like a boxer-short, but inside is a plastic diaper. The short cover can be easily lifted by the wearer much like a skirt, revealing a diaper that looks similar to a regular Goodnites diaper but without the cloth-like lining or graphics; in this way, Goodnites Sleep Shorts are much like traditional diapers. While the plastic backing causes Sleep Shorts to be slightly more absorbent, an overwhelming number of people report ripping and cheap construction of the shorts due to them being slightly smaller than the brief-style traditional Goodnites. Fit-The large size of Drynites are for 8-15 year olds, and will fit most people within that age range, and people who are a similar size and shape to people in that age range. Generally speaking, someone with a waist size of 32" will be able to fit into them without tearing the sides, but won't necessarily be completely covered by the diaper, especially at the back. Thickness and Absorbency- Drynites are designed to be discreet, and as a result are quite thin. They don't hold as much as adult nappies do, and are prone to leaking under heavy wetting. Although the girls' and boys' versions are similar, the padding is slightly different. The girls' version is more absorbent in the middle than the front or back, with the boys' version being more absorbent in the front than in the middle or the back. See AlsoLinks |
