ViewsContributingFrom ADISC Answers WikiSo you'd like to help out with the ADISC wiki? Great! The ADISC wiki is a great place to share your knowledge about anything related to ABDLism and anything related. We're working on a few tools to make editing easier - stay tuned.
Formatting (or "making pretty text")Our wiki runs on the same software that Wikipedia uses, known as MediaWiki. If you've ever edited Wikipedia, you know the basics of formatting text on the ADISC Answers Wiki. In case you don't have experience with MediaWiki, you might find these links helpful:
Watch out for that "Discussion" buttonIf you click a Discussion button, you'll be given the link to the related thread in the Wiki Articles Discussion forum. If the thread has yet to be made, you'll be asked whether you will like to create one or not. This is different to the normal way wikimedia handles discussion, due to the forum and wiki integration. Please use internal links!Link to as many pages as possible. If you're making even a mention of another diaper-related term, put [[double square brackets]] around it. Even if it shows up as a red link, sooner or later, someone will write an article for it. Please categorize articlesIf you write a new article, it really helps us to keep this wiki organized if you categorize it. This can be done by making an internal link to a category ([[Category:CategoryName]]). A list of all the categories in this wiki is available at Special:Categories. To create a link to a category, use the format [[:Category:CategoryName]]. (Example: Diaper reviews) Summarize your changesIt helps me a lot if you provide a summary of what you changed using the "Summary:" box that you see every time you edit a page. Summarizing your changes allows keeping a clear log of a page's history and evolution. It also gives you a brief chance to justify or explain your edits. Where to post ideasIf you've got an idea for an article but don't have the knowledge or time to write it, don't worry! We've got a lot of people with a lot of diverse knowledge. Post your idea on the Ideas Noticeboard. The editors regularly check this page. Found vandalism? Some people don't have a clue. If you see a page that's been obviously edited for the worse, please post on the Editors' Noticeboard. We keep a regular eye on this page and will readily respond to any vandalism reports that come in. Please be boldDon't be afraid to make edits. Nobody owns the content that's written on here - it's all dedicated to the public for the public good. You're not hurting anyone by removing that stray apostrophe, fixing their spelling, or even rewriting a paragraph. If you think it benefits or improves on the article, by all means go for it. On the flip side, do not be offended if someone reverts your edit, or edits something you wrote. A wiki is about working together to produce an excellent library of information that no single person could do alone. Thanks for contributing! Please discuss thingsIf you're not sure about an edit, click the discussion button and add a comment to the article. Someone might be able to do what you're looking for, or if not, we'll explain why we don't think it's a good idea. You'll never be put down for asking before you make a controversial edit - that's what the discussion button is there for. The discussion button can also be helpful if you're collaborating on a page with others, or want to comment on the article itself if you think it needs improvement. Wiki discussions should be about the article, not about the article's subject. For example, the Discussion page for a review of Bambino diapers isn't the place to talk about how much they hold - that's what the forum is for. Don't recommend unsafe practicesFor the safety of our readers and members, please don't post any advice or guide that is unsafe. This includes (but of course isn't limited to) enemas or insertion of foreign objects into the body, drugs, and hypnosis tapes. These practices and products can create unwanted or harmful effects and should always be addressed with caution. What can I do to help? You've read the hows, now here are the wheres. These are the parts of the ADISC Answers Wiki that need particular attention:
