To get mIRC go to http://www.mirc.com/get.html and click the download mIRC button that is there.

The next screen may vary depending on which mirror site it takes you to, but you should click whatever download mIRC link is there.

Download the file and open it/run it and this will start the mIRC install process.
Click Next > and click “I Agree” at the next screen.
Next choose where you want to install it… the default place should be fine.

I personally like to unselect the Servers List from installing as it installs hundreds of servers most of which you will not need and if you use mIRC for a lot of different servers etc it gets annoying however since the server we want is included in this list having it there will make it easier for someone new to mIRC to use so for this tutorial it will be installed
The next thing is creating shortcuts... This will put the mIRC program launch in your start folder etc… You can choose what you wish to do with this including telling it not to make shortcuts. If you wish to hide mIRC tell it not to create shortcuts and you will have to launch it from the folder you told it to install into earlier (Note: mIRC will appear in the installed programs list of your computer so even choosing this will not really hide it beyond a cursory glance).
The next window is to backup existing files which doesn’t matter for you and whether to create a desktop icon… Assuming your not trying to hide mIRC you should just let it do that otherwise unselect it so it won’t create one.
Finally review the install options and if you told it not to make icons or shortcuts note down the destination folder because you will have to go there to launch it
.
Now select Run mIRC and this will start the program

Yay! Its open now :) The Thing saying it expires after 30 days is fake… it never expires just keeps showing the same screen for like 3 seconds when you open it even if it claims its expired and lets you continue (I’ve used it for 4 years unregistered so believe me you’ll be fine) anyways click continue to close the nag screen.

Now this options screen appears. Fill it in using a fake name and email address as this info will be visible to other people once you connect to the chat so you dun want it to be real. Also select a nickname (preferably the same one as you use on adisc.org) along with an alternative in case that nickname is used.
I have filled it in using fake and fake for name and email I suggest you use the same and have filled in my nickname as BBen with BBen- as an alternate nick.
Note: If you accidently close this options box at any time just use Alt+O to get it back on the keyboard or in the menu on the top Tools ->Options
Now click on the left under Category: Connect ->Servers as shown in the below pic.

Now you need to use the scroll bar on the right and scroll
up until you see Blitzed and click that as shown below and select “Random
Server”
Once you have done that double click on the Random Server and the Connect Box should highlight and blitzed appear as shown below.

Finally click connect. It will begin to connect which may take a little while… If it fails try to let it retry connecting… If your on a school connection or other funky network options it might not work… Getting around those issues is way past the scope of this article so ask on the forums if you have trouble.
Finally a mIRC favorites box should pop up once your connected. Type #adisc and click the join button.

Look a Talking Peach!

Anyways congrats you now have mIRC working. For help customizing it etc feel free to ask in the channel for help.
