The Smurffs, Masters of the Universe, Gummi Bears and Transformers! Oh yeah! Best Saturday mornings ever. I'm not even sure Saturday mornings even allow non-educational cartoons anymore.

Back then I would get up before dawn on a Saturday. Not so much the case now. Sleeping in is a rarity.

The Smurfs, Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbara, Woody Woodpecker. Those were the earliest ones, probably at 4 or 5. We had a black and white television with a rooftop antenna. Later ones: GI Joe, Transformers, Voltron, Heathcliff, He-Man, Thundercats. I'm sure I forgot a few.

This is secretly a "how old are you" thread by just another name.

Ha ha -- so true!

I think Bod was one of the first cartoons I would have watched. Children's TV was so sedate in 1970s Britain!

Oh... hang on... I take it back... I think "Camberwick Green" was probably the first cartoon I ever watched (if stop-frame animation counts as a cartoon).

This really takes me back. I used to absolute love it. It's so mesmerising. And how many pre-school children's programmes these days feature a man getting drunk at work!

Aw, Camberwick Green! Then you will probably remember its side shoot, Chigley. Not to forget Mr Ben, Rhubarb and Custard, the Clangers and Captain Pugwash! Wasn't life simple then?

The first cartoon I remember watching is probably either Tom & Jerry, The Simpsons, or The Flintstones.

Rugrats. But Gargoyles sticks out vividly in my mind.

Rugrats, Animanics, Loony Toons and Muppet Babies stick out the most.

While I can't pinpoint the exact cartoon I first remember watching, tonight I recalled my first television-related memory. I have a very brief memory of seeing The Muppet Show (or I suppose it could have been a commercial for it) on the TV in my bedroom at the first house I lived in, so I must have been three or younger. My parents slept on my bedroom floor until I was about three, so they had a TV in there.

Fat Albert

Probably like Blue's Clues or Tom and Jerry.

The Beatles yellow submarine

Rugrats!! Gosh I love that show still

I remember watching The Smurfs, The Care Bears (from the 80's), Muppet Babies, Winnie the Pooh, Duck Tails, Tail Spin, Sonic the Hedgehog (the original show from the early 90's), and reruns of Gumbi (although this isn't a cartoon I think it still apples to the general genre of cartoons)

Mom said I ran through six tapes of Mia the Bee when I was still in pull-ups.

Been forever sonic an them
