Just seen four swan-looking birds fly past (UK, Pennines area); adult swan-looking by their size and shape, except that they were all a uniform dark gray 
I know that juveniles of our usual types have gray plumage, but that's not usually as uniform nor as dark as these were (not to mention that they usually fly in family groups, giving the sight of gray youngsters and white adults).
Any ideas?
