I’ve had a pain in the bottom of my foot just ahead of my heel for a few months. It started after what I think was straining the muscle to stand up or when I was pushing, but it’s been coming and going for months. I tried wearing support to help it, but it only helped for a little bit.

Today, I was walking and felt a sharp poke, like some one put a staple in my shoe. No evidence of a stick or rock in the shoe. Now the pain is largely gone, aside from some minor discomfort.

My best guess is that my cuboid bone in my foot was shifted out of alignment, and that pinch was it sliding back into place.

Anyone had experience like that?

Sounds like a muscle thing to me, but my mom's the expert on those types of things.

You probably had a sore one in there that swelled and got out of place, then moved your foot in such a way that stretched and snapped it back into place.
