How long before you clean and change a messy diaper?

Like others have said, I change a messy diaper as soon as I can. How much time it takes will depend if I’m out and about or at home. Diaper rash hurts.

Happens very rarely to me, but as soon as possible, especially if it’s happened overnight while wearing cloth nappies.

I have U ic too and very high capacity diaper because sometime due to work or kids can't change on spot but usually soon diaper is full its change

Immediately, when it happens. I've only experienced this a few times, but "less is more" in my book.

Of course I prefer to wear a clean diaper. But most of my BM's are at night. And I rarely get up in the middle of the night to change. So it's important to always use a barrier protection.

As for barrier protection I use zinc-oxide ointment. My skin is pretty tough. After I clean-up I like to air out before I diaper myself. If I do have an accident during the day (rare), I usually go home. I do have my own office and personal bathroom but I'm never really confident about getting clean without a shower.
Diaper rash can happen for any IC people. It's not just F-IC. Wearing a wet diaper during hot and humid weather makes it even worse. Airing out our skin is so important. Everyday.

Having a messy diaper during the day should be changed as fast as possible. But sometimes it's not. For whatever reason. Using internal deodorants
will reduce odor and give me sometime before someone might notice. Still, changing a dirty diaper should be ASAP.

I am not fond of Diaper Dermatitis.
As I have stated earlier despite my disabilities, I cange my dydee immediately or ASAP.
I do not feel like being the character, "PROFESSOR POOPY PANTS".

Right after, especially if I’m wearing cloth. 🤭 I don’t like sitting in a messy diaper even though I don’t mind when the mess happens.

It can vary, depending on where I am at that moment. If I'm home, usually within 10 to 30 minutes, unless in bed, which means I'll change when I get up; if out and about, as quickly as possible, if not sooner! Meaning, if I can get home or somewhere like a Starbucks private bathroom, I can change my messy diaper very quickly! Unfortunately, there are also times where it can be a few hours, so that means being patient til I can change!

I hear that and can totally relate!! I don’t wear cloth in public and have found that (with a waterproof snap cover), the cvs briefs with tabs, can actually hold quite a lot. As long as you change a mess right away. I had a surprise messing while on my way to a Dr appointment and at hobby lobby so I wear a diaper whenever possible.

At home or in the car, no longer than 1 hour. In public around others, as soon as possible.

I don't wear cloth diapers (except pocket [ecoable] diaper when doing sport activity), because I don't like washing dirty diapers. Especially when I have a BM while sleeping. It's easier when using disposables.

I generally don’t have these kind of accidents on a regular basis, but since starting Ozempic, it’s become a normal thing or I have accidents a few times a month. Luckily most of the time it’s while I’m at home like right now I’m laying here at 4 AM in my messy diaper. I usually try to change right away but when I’m dealing with a situation like what I’m in now I usually just try to keep going until I’m done before I have to change. So today it took me like an hour before I stopped having accidents.

Thankfully my fecal IC almost always happens in the morning shortly after waking up. It is common for me to wait 30-60 minutes to clean up because like @Tundra1975 says, there can be a second wave. I'd rather clean up once than twice! On the rare occasions it happens when out and about, I will change as soon as possible.

Either straight away or half an hour maximum or wait till it’s full if it’s just wet

ASAP

I use barrier cream. When wet I don't change for a long time. If mess straight away.
