In February I had a SI joint fusion, a little joint between your pelvis and tailbone. Now I'm going to PT a few times a week and they are aware of my IC. I just try not to have much fluid intake before going.
But to supplement my recovery and get in better shape before I have my left knee replaced, I've signed up to go to a Genesis Health Club. Due to the level of my incontinence, I'm always wearing a full diaper. Yet, going to the gym, there's no real private changing area, and this is creating a lot of anxiety. Late yesterday I went to the store and bought a bag of cheap pull-ups and then this morning I put a doubler in them. Changing from my street clothes into my swimsuit with these is easier and not as obvious. But, on my way home the floodgates opened and the pullup with doubler didn't contain things very well. I ordered what I'm hoping are more absorbent pull-ups, and trying to avoid wearing a full diaper to the gym.
Is there anyone who can give me possible suggestions for dealing with this issue in a gym setting? Right now, I need to be working hard to get into better shape, but I'm trying not to let this issue prevent me from going to the gym. So far I've been fortunate that the locker room wasn't crowded and I could stay pretty much concealed. But if I have one or more embarrassing situations I may stop going altogether.
