Omg301 said:Oh my God that's horrible! How could they treat you like that. I sometimes have outburts like that because I just.. I can't deal with the rudeness. I twice recently had an issue with a Psychiatry department receptionist. First time I was telling them I was severely depressed and they just hung up on me. Second time, week later, I was asking for their manager because it was days past a manager being expected to reach out to me and they never did. They were very rude, I asked for the manager, they hung up on me, once again.
I'm so sick and tired of fake rude horrible healthcare providers. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but I just can't take it.
Sorry to hear about your experiences. I echo your sentiments about healthcare providers!
It wasn't just my autism and ADHD. I'd been battling with them to get proper referrals for Long Covid treatment for over a year at that point (one GP screwed up a referral and by the time they rectified it the specialist centre had stopped taking people) and my condition worsened whilst I was left to fester. Indeed, I ended up in A&E when I went into uni one day because of how bad things had gotten and was super done in and spasmodic. I also asked for home visits because there's no way of me getting to the surgery because the way the pavements are make it physically impossible and there are no wheelchair accessible taxis in the area. They declined. Then I had this GP who obviously didn't believe my issues were severe and I was trying it on.
I made numerous complaints because of all the above and unsurprisingly as GPs in the UK mark their own homework as it were when it comes to complaints, none were upheld. I guess they saw me as a 'problem patient' because of the complaints. Other people with chronic conditions have been removed and I've come across other long haulers who were just removed and hadn't complained before or anything!
