Best budget nappy uk

Another factor on why supermarkets don’t stock a wide range of adult nappies is probably down to tax. You can buy incontinence products vat free from most incontinence suppliers. So why would you want to go and buy them from a supermarket where you will need to pay vat?
That's true, must admit I posted a thread on here recently wishing that Sunkiss sold their nappies through a specialist supplier instead of Amazon because of VAT reasons https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads...alist-incontinence-supplier-in-the-uk.184956/

For budget nappies don’t forget the Formacare range (Comfort Slip = plastic backed, Premium Slip and Sensitive Slip = cloth backed).

You can get them from Discount Medical.

So i guess Internet shopping remains the go to online supermarket for AB DL friends in the UK?

Well, I remember going to John Bell & Croyden north of Oxford Street and then riding the Tube with those big Tena packages. I guess old-fashioned shopping is still a viable option, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Somebody mentioned on here some months back that the Formacare Slip (plastic backed) are less quality than they used to be since they've changed the product. Is this true?

I wouldn’t but them again plastic backed changed for the worse the older ones were good. For now I’ll stick with dry life and better dry.

We've got NRU, one of the best suppliers around, and they have (or used to have) a showroom you can visit…

Of course, there are others elsewhere in Europe…

…actually both based in France, don't though the latter ships widely.

Or try…

…in the Netherlands.

Not short of suppliers, but few high street shop fronts! The world is not ready for us yet!

I tried the plastic backed ones last year and had a mixed experience, first lot were okay but after that I did a bulk order and had a not so good experience, felt like the nappy fell apart, the top sheet (or at least that's what I think it's called but the layer that touches your skin, we could really do with a glossary as a sticky thread in this forum) separated from the padding really easily and didn't feel comfortable or secure to wear, went back to Drylife after that for my main nappy but also use Betterdry and Sunkiss although they are pricey

I didn't think the old style Formacare Slip (plastic backed) were that bad if you remained immobile like having a few beers with your feet up on the settee and just dribbling into them constantly but for moving around they was pretty bad. I did love the plastic on them though as this was thick and very old-skool medical looking and they were very good value for money. I prefer Drylife, better day and the Tena Active range the most. I also have 18 packets of Drylife XPLUS which are pretty good but brought them on a binge.

Years ago I bought some nappies called Gompels. They were okayish and really really cheap! Tena for me now though. Thry are comfy, absorband and give me just the right amount of feeling little, but not being abdl.

Another vote for Drylife nappies. There are a number of suppliers and they aren’t too pricey. Definitely prefer them over the Tena Slips.

Agree 100%. Just got a case yesterday from Dorset Nursing Supplies who seem to be the cheapest and the service is brilliant !!.

You shouldn't need to pay vat if the supermarket are on the ball, I'll usually check my receipt if I've been buying stuff like that.
I know Aldi have there pants 0% rated yet Lidl you used to have the full 20%, I did think about emailing there customer service but decided I don't know enough about tax laws to complain

I am impressed with Drylife Slip Super, a good nappy but not hugely discreet. Tena ActiveFit is good for the price and more discreet than Drylife. BetterDry Day is not too expensive and very, very discreet. All of the above are absorbent enough for me too, but your mileage may vary :)

Just wondering what you guys consider the best (comfortable and high absorption) medical nappy in the UK. Tena Ultimas are the only ones I've had good experiences (also betterdry but they are a pain in the ass to get for cheap).
Boots do there own brand staydry slips around £9 for 10 pack

A few independent pharmacies stock attends classic slips pack of 15 i bought some the other day for £13
