Hey! I found my old plushie!

I was digging through some old crap in my attic earlier today, and I found my old Plushie! I can't post a pic, but I can describe him for ya: He's a pretty large black bear, about 13 inches tall, and has thick, fuzzy hair all over, and a cute pink nose.

I'm glad I found Fuzzy.. I was under the impression he got thrown out a long time ago.. Obviously not, eh? Anyway, I'll be snuggling with him tonight! I'm so happy!

A similar thing happened to me, I was routing through some old stuff and came across a box filled with all of my childhood teddies.

Still haven't played with them yet.

awwwww sounds soo cute i have mine here with me too i sleep with him every night soo cuddley but he kinda smells hehe but i dont mind

I've slept with him for the last couple nights, and helps me keep warm on these cold winter nights. I need to wash him though, he smells like attic..

So how do you wash a plushie?

I've got no idea, but It's something I would *love* to know. A washing machine would be too brutal for Humphrey, but I think he needs a lil' bath.

I tend to use a damp sponge and just go all over, spot cleaning almost. I've seen places recommend putting them in a pillow case and chucking it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle - which should work, but getting it dry could be interesting. Some recommend rolling your plushie in a towel and squashing it as much as you can to force the water out before leaving it out to dry. Eeek! Even if my ted did survive the whole washing process, neither him nor I would survive the squashing 'treatment'. All depends on how old your plushie - newer/less cuddled ones should survive being washed and dried fairly well.

Dry cleaning should be alright though - although I'd be too much of a wimp to take mine to a dry-cleaners!
