From what I can remember being told.
I began potty training at age 3... was trained day and night by age 5. Began reversing potty training at age 18... got the daytime down... working on nights. We learned to tie our shoes in preschool (age 4). My kindergarden class wouldn't allow velcro shoes. LOL I was walking around age 2. Never bothered to learn to ride a bike... I've always preferred roller blades. Learned to swim at age 8 (we never had a pool). Was using my first computer (Commodore 64) at age 3 or 4... sitting on grandpa's lap. Sucked my thumb until age 12. Still sleep with my plushies every night. |

It feels sorta good to know you arent the only one here who cant ride a bike ^^ I cant either, the balance is toobad, didnt know the reason why until my early teens.
learned to tie shoelaces around the age of 9-13 think I was potty trained around the age of 3-4 stopped sleeping with plushies around the age of 10 so everything I have learned has taken sometime. |

Not sure when I was potty trained because I was adopted at 2, but think it might be when I was 3, because I was potty trained at 4. I can remember that far back.
Learned to walk when I was 2, because I have pictures of when I was adopted by my parents, and I'm standing. Tied shoes at 6 because you had to for kindergarten, but tied them terribly. I still double knot some of my shoes....so there adult world ![]() Rode a bike at age 6... I remember because when the training wheels came off, it was traumatic. I ride now, however, and enjoy it. Alas, no dad to hold onto the seat so I won't fall... Learned to swim at like 4 or 5 because I grew up on Barnegat Bay. We all swam and fished for dinner. It was a great life and I miss it. Learned to play baseball at age 6 and played for Toms River Little League...yes the same team that beat the Japanese a few years ago, though I was lousy at it. Have recently played men's league at first and 2nd base. Went up against the Hill Cats coaching staff. It was the thrill of a lifetime, though we got shelled! (didn't have video games when I was little.. though we did have catch the dynosaur..) |

Well, it's a little embarrassing to post this one but I was potty trained at about age 7. I WAS becoming potty trained at age 3, but there was a lot of stress in my life (for a 3 year old) because of my sister being diagnosed with moderate-severe autism. My parents seemed to give her all the attention, but even though I now know she needed it more, I became jealous. Long story short, I think I liked the attention the diaper changes gave me, until deep down inside I wanted to be a big boy and then my parents, who had been training me on their free time for a while, suddenly had a lot more success. (I blame this late age of training for my dl-ism.)
However, with things other than potty training, I was very early. I could read and write (write like a caveman, but while barely legibly, still writing) by about age 3. I think I could tie my shoes in first grade, and I could write a bike by then, too. |
