Paci teeth problems

I got my nuk 5 yesterday, and fell asleep with it in, when I woke up my two front teeth hurt at the roots. Do paci's mess with your teeth?

Yes. They push them forward a bit as you noticed. It's not that big of a deal though in my experience.

It's not a big issue, but it does hurt badly until you get used to your pacifier. Don't over use it, although its kind of difficult to really overuse a pacifier.

I found that my front top teeth got sore when I first got my Nuk5. I found the trick is to brush your teeth really well before using it (especially the gums) and then it doesn't feel as bad the next morning. The only problem I've had is once it's in, I don't want to take it out....

As far as I'm tooth problems, it might be an issue if your teeth are still moving (teenage years) because the paci would act like braces...except push your teeth where you don't want them to go! But I guess as long as you don't do it that often it'll be fine.

Yep.
I like to wear my retainer as well. Then my top teeth are encased in an impenitrable forcefield! (invisalign retainer) and I have a permanent bottom bar, (very common after braces) so those teeth are also cemented in place...

My teeth are all good after I use a paci, I'm not worried. =)

I don't think it will do much damage... Teeth ache a lot even when they are moved the slightest bit.

haven't used one but i would think once all your teeth are in there-- all the roots and stuff i kinda doubt a paci will be able to move them in a significant way. for teenagers and stuff though i would be kinda careful as i wouldn't doubt it can acts as braces of sorts.

yeah, i get that too, your teeth ate like rocks, theyre moved by the pressue of the pacci which is big, but short lived and is enough to push your teeth just alittle, and they can shift over time, slowly but surely.

I'm in the same boat as Me :p except both of my retainers are plastic pop ins. In my case my braces pushed my teeth out so the paci sorta does help me. Teeth will move pretty quickly, so for however little you use a pacifier it'll spring back just as fast. Also thats were having a proper sized pacifier is critical since a proper sized one will have the least amount of interference on your teeth.

I think everyone's different in this type of thing. e.g. my teeth are quite... mobile if you will.

When I had a retainer, even after a year of wearing it, taking it out for a night would cause a noticeable change in my teeth's position.

So, if I go a night or two without using a paci, putting it back in will hurt. If I'm using it nightly, it's fine after the first night.

I have heard many mixed reports. From my experiences, it didn't really hurt but it did push my teeth a little.
