Scrubs Season 8 Episode 1 (Written by Blarg) (New update 10/27/08)

Summary: This is Season 8, episode 1. :;:;:Notes:;:;: Scene Descriptions are in italics Flashbacks are signified and would have the flash of white prior to showing “flash backed clip” Anything in [ … ] are actions so sometimes you’ll see them in dialogue. :;:;:End:;:;: ************************************************** ******************************* Scrubs/S8/e01 Opens with J.D. sitting on bench outside of hospital camera is aimed at J.D. Hospital is behind camera. J.D. ‘s narration: “It’s weird, I used to think of the hospital as a monster…” Quick flash back, 3 seconds long, replay of Hospital monster from Season: 2 Episode: 10 time-in: 1:15 to 1:18 J.D. comes out of flashback with left eyebrow raised, in the self thought stance. J.D.’s narration: “Well… I suppose I was wrong-” Flashback: Happy moments, should show clips of J.D. And on episode 3 in clients room about to kiss, Turk and J.D. having fun with Hooch, Dr. Cox getting sneak hugged, Scene with J.D. surfing a patient’s hospital bed when wing was shut down, Space invaders scene with interns… flash back is over at this point this time camera is over the shoulder of J.D. and Hospital is in sight of camera. Nurse Shirley walks by bench slowly humming to herself, then walks out of frame going to right of JD, pauses, back pedals into frame and faces him in minority attitude stance Shirley: “Uh… sweet thing- What are you doing here?” Nurse realizes that JD isn’t paying attention, annoyed she walks closer to him Shirley: “Now why aren’t you listening, now don’t tell me you’re crazy or somthin’!” Still No response from JD, Annoyed she shows agitation Shirley lets out a “humph” noise and starts walking away Shirley: [says over her shoulder directed at J.D.]“I always thought you were a weird one” camera is looking over Shirley’s shoulder at hospital as she walks towards entrance to hospital, camera pans back at J.D. J.D. snaps out of day dream and gives look of confusion and glances around as if he ignored someone, since Shirley is in hospital by now he doesn’t see her and shrugs the feeling away. J.D. ‘s narration: “Well at least life was finally starting to settle into place, it’s been seven years but I think I’m finally starting to get cozy here…” camera switches back to facing J.D.’s front and hospital is once again behind camera, the Janitor is shown atop the beige colored wall that’s covered with random plaques, (wall is behind J.D.’s bench, seen well in episode “my bad too” in season 7 during the space invaders scene) he reaches behind wall and pulls up a paint ball gun. Chuckling he aims at J.D. camera starts panning upwards cutting J.D. out of picture, paint ball shots are fired, J.D. yelling like a girl, saying “ow” over and over again. 3 total, camera keeps going past Janitor and is aimed at sky J.D. :[J.D. Moaning from pain] “Owwwwww my head! I think I need a pack of ice-” Janitor: [Laughing manically, stops suddenly to talk] “No you don’t.” Audience hears a fourth shot and an “umph” sound from J.D. Beginning Credits… Scene opens at nurse station corner area at ICU camera is positioned looking out from nurse’s desks Dr. Cox is standing next to nurse station of ICU staring at a chart, not too interested in anything in particular he glances up as Elliot passes by him. Elliot is walking quickly while reading a chart, right hand in pocket and left hand holds chart, she’s wearing an attending’s lab coat. Cox: [He says not too energetically] “Hey Barbie.” Elliot stops mid-stride, turns around to face Cox. While rolling her eyes, her shoulders are slumped Elliot: [Exasperated] “What is it now?” Elliot has hands down, both hands are at her sides, not in pockets, Cox glances in her direction, tense moment for a few seconds, let’s out an annoyed sound as if he forgot what he was going to say Cox: “Never mind.” Elliot, stares at him for a moment shrugs, face lightens up again, and walks into a room not too far away. camera pans from behind counter to Cox’s side looking into Nurse desk area, (it’s over his right shoulder, but to the right so that face is in view) Carla busy with paper work hair is wavy, regular pink tinted scrubs and is looking down at her papers which she’s casually filling out Carla: [Sarcastically] “You know, it’s funny but I seem to remember you being chief of medicine, not an attending, you’ve been here all day you need to get a move on!” Cox looks up from patient’s chart, glares at her, completely unfazed by her remark Cox: “I can’t believe I had no words for Barbie… it’s like my mind’s been scrambled lately.” This time looks up from papers and puts hands on counter stares at him (not angry, rather she has sympathetic look) Carla: [affectionately ] “It’s probably the job.” Cox lightens up by her imparted wisdom, begins walking backwards Cox:: [Points at her and does the “coach” shout] “We’ll pick this up in a little bit Carla, I gotta go make sure she doesn’t kill her patient.” camera is behind him and sways following his walk towards the room then once he enters it pans reappearing inside Elliot’s patient’s room in corner facing the trio, Elliot is on left of patient, foot of bed faces door Cox: [Cox is grinning as he enters the room] “What’s happening?” Elliots looks up from patient and stares at Cox for a moment before looking back down at patient giving her the “doctor to patient” touch on shoulder. Cox walks through her patient’s room to grab the chart at the foot of the bed by tossing it up and catching it (with his right hand). She decides to debrief him while he reads the chart to give an image of competence to her patient. Elliot [Takes a quick breath] “This is my client, Ms. Moore, she came in yesterday with a fever of 104.4 and I recommended that she be transferred to ICU due to the fever being constant, night sweats, lots of problems on her skin including inflammation of lymph nodes on her neck and arm pits along with a slight disfiguration of her belly, possible swelling.” Cox: starts nodding his head as he flipped back the last page of the chart he looked up at Elliot. Sighs, spreads his legs, wide posture flicks his nose, and puts hands on hips. camera zooms closer now only Elliot and Cox are in frame, top half of patient is out of picture Cox: “And what on God’s green earth are you planning to do to this patient to diagnose her?” Elliot: [ Startled by him asking her opinion she lets out a small gasp (more like sharp inhalation) ] “Oh, well I was telling Ms. Moore about how I want her to get a full biopsy” camera- Zooms out a bit to include Patient who waves in a surprisingly happy state as if having a biopsy was a cure instead of a method of diagnosing a patient Cox: [ He takes a deep breath] “That’s reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally funny that you should say that since the subject is displaying very obvious symptoms of a specific disease. [pauses] Can you guess what it is? [ pauses again giving Elliot a chance to speak but speaks up again second she says a syllable] Guess not doll-face, it’s a classic, good old Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. I wonder when you were planning on picking up on it, I mean commmooon every symptom is here, what do you expect next? The disease introducing itself to you? Why would you want to waste away a patient’s life by doing a general biopsy, what’s wrong with you? You’re not an intern anymore!” camera pans, close-up of Elliot’s face. Her eyes are upset, no tears, looks away and wipes “something” out of her eye. camera pans onto Cox, patient and Elliot are behind camera Cox: [ Small victory smile, very small, shallow victory. ] “Okay, well this is what we’re going to do, get Radiology to do an MRI and look for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma first and if I’m wrong have them do your general biopsy” camera swings onto Elliot (leftwards since camera is at foot of bed and Elliot is rear left) as she barges out of room, as camera comes across Cox who’s standing, savoring his small victory, it stops and keeps its focus on him even though Elliot leaves frame, missing satisfaction, he “Bahs” the bewildered patient and storms off past J.D. who’s standing outside of room taking a right walking off into the halls. Amused J.D. gives a quizzical look and walks over to Carla sliding up to the counter top. J.D.: [ To Carla in a quizzical way ] “So Carlaaaaa, what’s up with Cox?” Carla glances up at him shakes head side to side in a disapproving manner Carla: [ To J.D. putting her hands on her hips] “J.D. who cares about Cox right now, I think someone else is more important.” J.D.’s narration: [ His head tilts back and ponders] “Hmmmm what’d I forget… Ted? [pauses for a moment smiles and dismisses the notion] Wait a second why did I even think of Ted? Maybe it’s that hit to the head from a few paintballs that Janitor shot at me… speaking of which- these scrubs that Lonnie gave are too small on me… Oh well, at least today’s laundry daayyyy! [Pushes off of desk and starts walking away opposite direction of Cox’s exit rounding corner ] Wait a second! Chocolate Bear wants something!” J.D. begins walking off and then stops mid-walk when he hears a soft cry behind a door. A flashback plays repeating the scene where Elliot “wiped” something out of her eye and her storming off *End of flashback* J.D.’s Narration: [ Turns to his right putting hand on closet door’s handle] “Wow I can’t believe I thought of Ted before Elliot… I guess we really haven’t been to close lately… at least things are improving.” camera fades out as J.D. twists the handle (play audio of loud handle twist) Next part, updated 10/27/08 Scene opens with Turk slowly pushing a gurney (hospital bed thing on wheels) down a hall, takes a right and enters the ICU. Turk is whistling The Andy Griffith Show song. He takes a right again and deposits the patient against the right wall drops the chart into the holder and strolls over to Carla who’s still at the Nurse station Carla: [Is leaning against a counter and glances at Turk as he walks to her] “Honey, what, are, you, whistling?” Turk: [Glances up at her and smiles] “What's up! [chuckles] you know, honestly I have no clue what is but I feel like missed out on something a few years ago... [Shrugs, leans over counter and kisses her lightly and looks up to see Cox walking past him] You know baby, I gotta go! See you later! Haha.” Turk runs up to Cox and the two initiate a conversation, Cox casually glances over shoulder to acknowledge Turk as they walk by the spot that J.D. Had just walked by a moment ago, camera stays behind at nurse station and watches them disappear Carla: [Carla turns around and looks at Shirley] “You know... now that I look at you I think that there really is some similarity between you and Laverne. [Pauses than shakes her head, Shirley is staring at her in a weird way ] Never mind, I don't know what got in my head.” She sees Kelso walking by and forgets about the nurse and quickly runs off, camera follows her for a moment where she “hails” Kelso and then returns to Shirley at which she point she solemnly shakes her head, swivels in her chair to face her paper work again and starts singing “A little respect” by erasure. To which you hear the car screeching noise and Turk walks back to see if he missed something, as he pops around the corner all inquisitive Shirley has stopped and is now getting up from counter Shirley: [Looks at him all weirdly] “What is it sweet stuff?” Turk: [Has mouth open as if he's confused, starts walking away] “You know something? Never mind. [Walks away and yells after Cox]” Shirley smiles to herself and starts singing again winking at Ted as he stares at him at her his face showing obvious confusion, camera stays on Ted and Shirley is long gone when he finds something to say Ted: [Yells after her] “But I thought you were dead!” camera pans far away to give audience sight of entire room as everyone stares at him as if he was crazy Ted: [Frowns, looks downwards] “I'm really sorry guys... [Walks away mumbling to himself, camera picks up things like “i hate myself” etc.] End of scene New scene opens with camera looking at J.D. As he enters the closet J.D.'s narration: [Locks door behind him and stops for a moment to think] “Hmmmm... that's weird, why would there be a lock for a closet... oh well” J.D.: [Walks up to Elliot and sits down next to her] “Hey Elliot.” J.D.'s narration: [Looks at Elliot's breasts while she's sitting slumped with head down] “Wow... is it me or did her breasts get bigger...” Fantasy: Elliot looks up at him with a seductive smile and starts crawling towards him and kisses him on the lips. Elliot: “Thanks for locking those doors for me...” Elliot then pushes J.D. To the floor... J.D.'s narration: [Quizzical look while being kissed] “Ahhhh, so that's why there's a lock!” End of fantasy, he comes out a bit disappointed. J.D.'s narration: [Slightly frazzled and notices that Elliot is staring at him with expecting eyes, mascara tears...] “Oh, crap, did she say something to me while I was dreaming [tilts head to side and thinks for a moment] Nah... I doubt it even if she did it's too late now” Elliot: [She giggles at him and wipes her tear away. And leans against closet's wall] “I love it when you do that face.” J.D.'s narration: [Gloating voice] “Wohoo! I always knew someone would admit the true wonders behind my thinking face! Hmmm... why am I in here again? Oh ya, right, Elliot! J.D.: [More sober of a voice] “Hey Elliot... what's wrong?” [Gaze drops back down to her breasts] J.D.'s narration: [Looks upwards again really quickly] “Damn it J.D.! Get your act together she needs your help! [His gaze starts going down again] Resist the urge, resist the urge!” Elliot: “I really don't know J.D. It's just that I've been so over whelmed lately like every emotion possible keeps taking hits at me... like right now I can't help but feel overwhelmed by my job... by my friends... even going home is a terrible experience sometimes. But just ten minutes ago I felt like I could take the world on.... Oh god... I think I might need help.” J.D.'s narration: [Has visible sweat, forced smile and nodding head in agreement “Damnit, resist, resist! [Then all of sudden visible relaxation sweeps over his face] Ah hah! I win, in your face, in your face!” J.D.'s Penis: “Damn you, damn you to hell... [British voice again]” J.D.'s narration: [Amazed expression and glances down at his pants] “Hey you talk again! You told me you'd explain your British accent!” J.D.'s Penis: “Ah yes, well umm... you see... umm... wait! Look up! You buffoon she's talking to you!” J.D. Snaps out of it and looks at her who is looking at him expectingly, she's obviously said more on her case. J.D.: [looks around as if looking for an answer.] “Elliot... maybe you've just been through too much lately... I mean you did break up with Keith... twice... maybe you should go out and do something to relieve the stress you're having. [Stops as if to consider something, than smiles at a prospect] You know that i'm always willing to hang out with you if you want to...” [b]Elliot:[b][She looks at him for a moment looks almost serene] “How about tomorrow? I have the entire day off and you can bring Sam along.” J.D.: [Enthralled by Elliot barely mumbles a few words as he sees her lean to him] “Sure... thing...” Elliot throws him off because even though he was going for a kiss she quickly dives in for a hug... at first a bit surprised but it wears off and ends up even patting her on the back for a bit. J.D.'s narration: [Shrugs to himself] “Oh well... I can settle for less...” Elliot: She pulls away and looks at him in an almost thankful way.] “Thank you J.D., you've been a great friend. [ She starts going up and then all of sudden remembers something and lets out a shrill of alarm] Wait, J.D., what's the time!” J.D.:[Is a bit alarmed but then glances down at his watch and casually remarks:] “Three thirty six, why?” Elliot:[Alarmed] “Frick! I'm so late!” J.D. Doesn't even have time to say anything because within a moment she's out and gone sprinting down the halls, a distant “get out of my way” is yelled along with some noise of things falling down. J.D.'s narration: [glances down at pants as door to closet swings shut again] “Now we got all the time in the world... just you and me buddy... common- I want to know why you're British! [pauses for a moment, but still no response] Damn you I will get this information out of you one day!” camera is outside looking into the closet as J.D. walks out of closet and comes out to see several people staring back from the way Elliot had gone to J.D. Who just walked out of closet. camera is now facing from behind J.D. And out on the masses. Slightly confused he looks around with his weird smile, camera shifts over back into hallways and looking onto J.D. And closet and it this time reveals a sign “do not disturb occupants” It does not take long for J.D. To notice the sign after the camera is panned. He's seriously confused until Janitor walks up smiling. Janitor: [is next to door locking and unlocking door's lock back and forth, and with the locked setting light goes on, he chuckles to himself] “That was fun, don't you think so?” [still chuckling to himself he walks off.] J.D.: Sheepish smile he points at it over his shoulder with thumb and drops his hands down to sides, and claps them together in a “final” manner] “Umm... I know what it looks like. But nothing happened!” [Scene ends with J.D. Running off and camera swiveling back onto gaping crowd which disperses not long after.] Hope you guys are enjoying this script, comment... does it seem fluent, original, does it seem like scrubs? Above post I forgot to proof reading it but it is because I forgotten that this forum at level I am at you cannot edit it.
Umm I didn't even read it because formatting is not in an state that I would want make effort to read it. I guess I prefer it to be like most other stories are but maybe someone else will have suggest do what you want to do but to other people it is much more readable to them. |

Okay i'm sorry guys about the incoherent style of this fic. I shall rewrite the transcipt version, i'm planning on writing both a transcript version and a book version to appeal to most audiences... I'm starting editing now... new version should be up in like 8 hours. If not in 8 then on saturday mid day. I have numerous fics i'm going to repost them soon it's just that i've never tried transcripts, let alone medical fiction.
