Okay. I don't claim to be the worlds greatest writer, but i have dabbled with the subject.

First off, The story needs to have a backbone. It can't just be about diapers, no one wants to read that. (i say "no one" loosely) Put the main characters into a situation. (for a good example read Ron's story "cody and the baby start over program" , or even my own "Brainwashed")

Secondly, have a strong reason for the characters to be in diapers. Non of this silly stuff where the character is like, "oh, i guess i'll wear a diaper today." Bleck. Sure, he could be wearing a diaper because he likes them, SHOW us that, Tell us that.

Thirdly. HAVE FUN! Don't get bogged down by your plot line. If you've a better idea out of the blue, go with it. Stories are flexible!

Finally, Grammar and Spelling are essential. (this explains itself)

I hope this helps. It's always good to see a budding writer. ^.^

Add some crazy element to the story that has nothing at all to do with diapers. Like aliens.

Paragraphs:
Keep them short (with few exceptions). Nobody likes to read a Wall of Text no matter how interesting the story - it's just painful too painful.

Imagination:
Don't describe people/places/things in too great a detail. Don't try to paint a picture with words, just give a few important highlights and let your reader's imagination paint the picture.

just my

Stephen King in his book, "On Writing" talks about being honest. I find this really applies when writing dialogue. It can be hard to write honest dialogue and still keep it civil, because often we say things that aren't for the general public. The worse dialogue I've seen is "Hey, what's up?"

King also says that all stories are about the situation, not the plot. People find them selves in situations, circumstances that must be over come. I like to incorporate mysteries into my writing. If the reader wants to know what happens next, he will turn the page.

Annie Dillard, author of "Pilgrim at Tinker Creek" advises to concentrate on each sentence. I think she sees writing like painting a picture. Each sentence is a brush stroke. It takes all of those brush strokes to complete the painting. They all sever a purpose, and they all work in harmony with each other. Tinker Creek, her first work, won a Pulitzer Prize. If you want to write beautiful prose, with in depth thinking, read her book.

One of the best diaper stories I've read on this site was written by Elizabeth. It had a wonderful twist at the end. The endings are all important. Too many writers let us down at the end, especially Stephen King, though I suspect cocaine and alcohol addiction didn't help his writing. You should have a good idea where your story is going, and how it's going to end before you start it. In the end, the reader should say, "Yeah!", in the sense that it has some emotional satisfaction, even if it doesn't end as they would have wished. Many people hated the final episode of Seinfeld, but when you think about it, it made sense. They all were selfish, and they all had done mean things to many people, so spending a year in jail did make sense. Their actions caught up with them.

Pay attention to television stories. They were written by writers. When you read a book, notice how the author handles the dialogue, moves the plot, and paces the events. You can learn a lot from that which you are surrounded. (That last sentence, by the way, is how you don't end a sentence with a preposition.) Ultimately, all stories are written by putting one sentence after another. Thank God for word processors.
