Here is chapter five. Enjoy.
Chapter 5 “George, have any of those things bitten you?” Alec asked, as George turned back to face him while clutching his stomach. “Yeah. One of those bastards bit my arm” George responded, showing Alec the bite. “George. You’re infected. You’re going to turn in to one of those soon, I’m sorry,” Alec said, aiming his pistol at George’s head. “Wait! Please, kill me when I turn, I can help you until then!” George begged. Alec lowered his pistol. He needed all the help he could get. “Fine,” Alec stated turning around. Alec headed back toward the busses. Several people with weapons were gathered around, waiting for Alec to tell them what to do. “Okay, from what I understand there are three survivors in the barracks, unarmed. You,” Alec said pointing to a man holding a revolver, “take three of our spare weapons and arm the survivors. Then meet us in front of the armory to help us out.” The man nodded and ran on to the busses. Alec and the other 5 people walked over to the building with a sign saying “armory” on it. He tried to look through the window, but it was too dark. He thought he saw movement inside. Within the next 5 minutes, the man had returned with three armed soldiers. Alec slowly turned the doorknob, and swung the door open. Inside it was completely dark, the sunlight only reaching in a few feet before dissipating into the darkness. All that the light revealed was a large bloodstain on the concrete floor of the armory. Suddenly, a load groaning filled the air, causing most of the group to take several steps back. “Anyone have a flashlight?” Alec asked. One of the soldiers pulled a small flashlight out of his breast pocket and handed it to Alec. He turned it on and shined it into the darkness. There was nothing. He shined it to the side of the doorway, finding a light switch. He flicked it upward. Nothing. “Damn…” Alec mumbled. The word echoed throughout the room. “Hello?” Alec heard a voice, “Is anyone there? Please help!” “Who are you?” Alec asked. “That isn’t important. What is important is that I’m trapped in the lock room! There are a bunch of these things trying to get in! I’ll plug in the generator to turn on the lights if you help me.” The voice said. “Agreed,” Alec said. Moments later, the lights turned on. Across the room, about five former-soldiers clawed at a door similar to a chain link fence. Alec could just barely see a man in a lab coat on the door’s other side. One of the zombies turned around and advanced, giving all the others the same idea. Alec’s group fired, almost instantly wiping out the zombies. Alec walked over to the door, and looked in. The room was filled with weapons, from assault rifles to pistols. The door opened. “Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been trapped there since yesterday. I though I was going to starve to death waiting for help.” The man said ecstatically. “You’re welcome. Let’s get you something to eat, and you can explain why it is that you’re here, since you’re obviously not military.” Alec responded. They began walking back towards the busses. “I’m a biologist. The military were sending me to a lab to help with the virus back before it spread. The transport came here to refuel, and I ended up trapped in there.” He relayed his story to Alec. When they got back to the busses, Alec got the man a bottle of water and a can of food. “Sir?” Alec turned around to see none other than the paramedic, who motioned for him to come over there. Alec walked over. “What is it?” Alec asked. “We’re running low on food. We could only last about another day before we run out. What do you want us to do sir?” The paramedic asked. “Crap, we only have one choice. Later on we’ll set up a team, go into the nearest town, and raid a supermarket,” Alec stated with a sigh, “I’m Alec by the way.” “Greg. I’ll go with you. I’m good with a pistol.” He said. Alec nodded, and walked back to the armory. One of the soldiers now had an assault rifle and was standing outside. “How many weapons were in there?” Alec asked. “According to the inventory sheet: 5 shotguns, 15 pistols, 10 assault rifles, and over two-dozen clips or shells for each. We’re set for a while.” The soldier stated. “Good. We’re going to need what we can get. I’m setting up a team to go in to town later for supplies, and I want you with me.” Alec stated. “Yes sir. My name is David if it matters.” The soldier replied. Alec nodded and began to gather the remainder of his team. Within the next hour, Alec had his team: the three soldiers, a former police officer, Greg, and himself. They got into a troop transport and drove to town. By the time they arrived, night had fallen. They arrived at a Stop & Shop, and walked in. It was bathed in darkness. Alec turned on the flashlight attached to his assault rifle, and the others did the same. They began down the aisle, and eventually made it to the canned food area. They each began shoving cans into their backpacks, trying to fill them as much as possible. Eventually, their packs were full. “Alright, let’s go back to the transport, dump the bags, and get back in here.” Alec whispered. They arrived back outside, and emptied their bags. Alec noticed Greg was shaking. “You okay?” Alec asked. “I’m nervous. We haven’t found a single of the zeds since we got here.” He responded shakily. “Isn’t that a good thing?” Alec asked. “No, it isn’t. The things usually tend to go in to groups. No lone ones means there’s a big group somewhere nearby.” He answered. Alec sighed. He suddenly felt like going back in wasn’t a good idea. He knew he had to though. They hadn’t gathered enough yet. Alec moved back toward the door, the rest of his group following. They went back toward the same isle, when everyone heard a thud from behind. They all quickly turned around, shining their flashlights on the ground. One of the soldiers had tripped. “Miguel, get up.” David said, helping him up. “Sorry, something tripped me.” Miguel said, pointing his flashlight to where he had fallen. There was a universal gasp. A corpse, one that was brutally killed judging by the blood all over its face. The group continued the few steps to the remainder of the canned foods, once again stuffing all they could into their packs. They had all the canned food with room to spare. “Okay, Greg, go to the pharmacy and take any drugs you think we might need. Miguel, go with him,” Alec commanded. Greg and Miguel both nodded, which Alec barely made out in the darkness, and walked toward the pharmacy. “David, go outside and get in the transport. Have it ready to go once we come out. I don’t want to spend any more time here than I have to.” Alec said. David quickly walked to the exit, and Alec watched him get in the driver’s seat. “You two, come with me. We are going to see if there’s anything else here that we need. We don’t want to leave only to realize that-”Alec was interrupted by an ear-piercing scream and a sudden symphony of groaning. Alec turned his flashlight toward the officer, who was having his neck torn by the corpse Miguel had tripped over. He fired, instantly killing the zombie. The officer collapsed, bleeding out on the floor. He heard another scream, and turned his flashlight toward the soldier, who had a small group of them surrounding him. He fired again, taking all of them, including the soldier down. He frantically flashed his flashlight around. A wall of bloody faces closed in on him, groaning. Thanks for all those comments on chapter five :P
Here's chapter six. Chapter Six Marcus was resting in the back of the pick-up truck as it drove down the road, watching the trees go by. The radio was playing the news. “It’s been confirmed that these creatures find their prey through smell. Hiding and being quiet won’t matter much for most. Also networks such as Fox and Georgia State News have been ended due to either starvation or the creatures getting into the studios.” Marcus stopped paying attention. He looked down at his side. He was surprised he was still alive. The shrapnel must have missed all the major things, but he doubted he would last much longer without a doctor. He looked up at the passing trees. The car stopped, and Marcus heard a curse from the older guy. Both men got out of the truck, and went toward the hood, opening it up. A cloud of smoke erupted from it, causing both of them to cough. The older man swore again, and began pacing around the hood. The younger man went to where Marcus was. “Crap, there’s something wrong with the car. You may have to walk kid.” He said. Marcus nodded. This was going to suck. An hour later nothing had happened, aside from a few bodies ending up around the car. Marcus looked down the road, wondering if help would come. “Sorry. We can’t fix it. We’re going to have to walk the three miles to the base,” the younger man said. Just then, Marcus spotted something in the distance. He tried to get a better look at it, causing both the other men to turn and look as well. Three busses were coming down the road. The first and second ones passed the truck, but the third stopped, causing the other two to stop slightly down the road. The bus door opened, and a man walked out. It was the paramedic. “Looks like you guys are in some trouble. Maybe I can help.” He said. He walked over to the hood, and had it fixed 15 minutes later. “How did you do that?” the older one asked. “I was a car mechanic for a little while before I became a paramedic. I’ve seen that same problem before. Without spare parts, I’d say that thing has about two more days.” He replied. He looked over at Marcus, and noticed the bloodstain on his shirt. “Is he okay?” He asked. “No, he’s got a piece of metal in him.” The younger one said. The paramedic nodded. He went back to the bus, and reemerged with his medical kit. He took off Marcus’ shirt, and soon had the shrapnel removed and the wound stitched and bandaged. “He’s going to be weak for a few days. Overall though, he should be back to normal soon. Just try not to make him fight, the stitches could pop.” He stated. A teenage girl got out of the bus. “The boss says that we need to get moving. If we don’t keep going right now, we won’t make it in time.” He sighed, and got back on to the bus, and the convoy started again. The men got back in to the truck, and began driving again. “Why didn’t they ask that guy where they were going? Or if they’d been to the military base?” Marcus reasoned. A short time later, they arrived in the town nearby. They drove quickly through, trying to find where the base was. The old man looked out one side, the young one the other. Marcus was able to look ahead, and see a figure stumble into the road. “Look out!” Marcus screamed. Both men looked on to the road, the old man hitting the brakes. They didn’t stop in time, and the figure crashed onto the hood and through the windshield. The car swerved and smashed into a building. Only a short while later, Marcus woke up, and quickly got out of the bed. He limped over to the driver’s side door. He looked in. The old man’s head was on the dashboard in a pool of blood. The younger one was still moving. Marcus limped over to the other side as quickly as he could. He was wrong. It wasn’t the man moving, it was the figure, who was eating the man’s arm, despite it being cut in half by the truck. Marcus quickly killed it with his sledge, and did the same to the younger one. He wouldn’t let him turn. He limped through town. He had to find the base, and fast. Suddenly, he heard a gun shot. He looked over to where he heard it from, and began limping there as best he could. Hopefully, that gunshot would mean help. He continued, and noticed a crowd outside a house, trying to break down the door. He also heard the moaning, and he knew what it meant. BANG! Another gunshot. Marcus saw the flash from the second story window. Marcus needed to find a way to get to whoever it was in there, and the only way to do that was to kill the horde. He knew he couldn’t do that with a sledgehammer, so he began looking around as quietly as possible for something else to use. That’s when he remembered. He looked back at the horde. Most of the things had begun moving toward him. “Damnit!” he thought, “they hunt with smell! They smell me!” He limped away as fast as he possibly could. The entire group was now behind him. He got an idea. He began shuffling in another direction, in an attempt to go around the block back to the house the gunshots had come from. He limped to the end of the street, and made another turn. “Halfway there!” he thought, urging himself on. He made it to the end and turned again. He began slowing down. He turned again, and ran directly into one. The only one that didn’t follow him. It grabbed his arms and opened its jaws. Marcus’ eyes widened as its mouth moved toward his shoulder. BANG! Its head turned as a bullet went into its jaw. Marcus succeeded in pushing it off, and limped to the door of the house, which was now open. He limped inside, and the door closed behind him. “Are you an idiot kid? What the hell are you doing in this town alone?” a woman asked. Marcus turned toward her. She was a Hispanic woman holding a sniper rifle. “Car… Crash…” Marcus was able to say between gasps. He suddenly felt a horrible pain where the stitches were. He grabbed his side, feeling his shirt was now wet. He screamed before collapsing. When he woke up, the pain in his side was mostly gone. He looked over. The woman was asleep. Marcus was able to sit up. He noticed that all he had on were his boxers. He looked at his side, noticing that it was stitched up with sewing thread. He laid back down and tried to remember what had happened, before falling back to sleep. |

Hmm...A nice story line and a very interesting plot. But, i think it would help to add emotion to the story's characters, especially the ones who've been bitten and know they are going to turn at some point. Also, emotion from the main two characters would be nice. Other than that and a few points where the story seems rushed, it's very good. A zombie TB story is bound to be good.
