Ok, I'm not really sure where to put this so I'll just put it here.

About a year ago, this thing called the Occulus Rift came was revealed to the world. In case you don't know, the Occulus Rift is a virtual reality headset used for video games. I've never tried it myself, but from what I've seen/heard, it feels like you are literally in the game. Like, you turn your head, and your view in the game turns as well. Cool stuff.

That got me thinking; People make horror games, amusement park simulators and tons of other stuff. So, why couldn't someone make an ab/dl simulation game?? Just think about that for a minute. It would provide such a great outlet ab/dl's that aren't lucky enough to find someone willing to participate in their fantasies. Do you think that could ever be in the realm of possibilities once virtual reality gaming becomes the norm? It's probably a bit far fetched, but I feel like this just needs to exist. I've never used Kickstarter before, but I would fund the crap out of this if it ever comes to fruition. Would anyone else get behind something like that?

It would be a cool idea, but to get the amount of skilled programmers to build a quality version of this, you would probably need a larger target of customers. With the small percentage of population that identify as AB/DL and then group that with the ones that own a virtual reality headset, the product wouldn't make enough sales to be worth the development.

On the brighter side of things though, with the hype from the Microsoft hololense, one day virtual reality may have a large enough cominalty to make it worth developing a product directed at AB/DL's although I would still be unsure about the quality put into it. The best chance we might have if there was a program made like 'second life' but for hololense, but moded for the AB/DL community afterwards, similar to how it has been nodded for the furry community in the current 'second life'.

It would be cool if someone made a very open architecture type game where people such as ourselves can modify it to some sort of AB/DL adventure.

I think dogboy has it right. I think ABDL would most likely piggy-back on another game that had an open architecture. Maybe something for families (2 adults, 1 child, 1 baby) and then you modify the game for us ABDL's. I think it is unlikely in the near future that there would be any ABDL specific games.

as soon as vr porn becomes a thing, and it will become a thing, then we'll probably see one fairly soon. At the moment VR in general is experimental no one is quite sure what works well with vr from a design standpoint. Suffice it to say we are a long way off from a niehe product like that being readily available. Then again a long way off isn't quite as long as it used to be.

I seen it use on space Sims. But it still need some tweaking

Yeah, it might be more realistic to expect something along the lines of just a virtual reality video. Anything could happen I suppose, but the kind of money it would take to make a game like that (and the fact that we are a pretty significant minority) would probably hinder it's production. Sigh.

Among the sleep. It's a $20 indie game on steam and it's occlus compatible. You play as a 2 year old child at night it's a horror game. No weapons, no defense just darkness and you teddy.

I think the problem you'd find with an idea like this is what exactly it would play like. The primary feature of the rift is the immersion factor, so in terms of gameplay, apart from a few specific circumstances, or games explicitly designed to have the immersion be a core part of the game, it's not going to immediately open up entire new avenues of designing said gameplay. Apart from looking around, or maybe using the gyro for some sort of custom gesture input (say, nodding your head), you're still gonna be using a keyboard/mouse/controller for most of your inputs. So think of games being designed to be fun without the rift, but if you do have one, it gets even better. An example of that off the top of my head might be something like Elite: Dangerous. It's entirely its own game, but the rift adds that level of immersion to it. To make a game more interactive you kind of want to start bringing in other technologies such as the Leap Motion.

There are some things which work primarily on the sense of being there though, and as someone who owns a DK2, one of the best things I tried when I first got my hands on it was a great little thing called "Don't let Go!" where the game simply involves you holding both control keys on your keyboard, while it tries to freak you out and make you pull your hands away, such as the dinosaur in the screenshots walking in and menacingly glaring at you and roaring etc.

So to bring this back to the topic of an AB/DL experience on the rift... If we were talking about something that was more of a visual experience, like a 360 degree movie/demo or something, where you were being looked after for example, it could probably work quite well. If you're going for a full blown game though, it'd need to boil down to what that actually is as a game, rather than relying on the rift to try and deliver the experience by itself.

As of right now among the sleep is probably gonna be the top rated game for an abdl on the oculus rift. Mainly because you play as a 2 year old and start off in a nursery where you can play and interact with things.

Also I don't think it be that difficult for a game to be created for this kind of thing mainly because engines like unity already have support for the oculus rift. I do 3d models, texturing, and coding all day. The only issue you honestly even have with this is finding the right person who has the time for this.

Im currently playing through this game, and it made me think that it is a great starting point for modders to create a a fully VR compatible ABDL game.

(Im even trying to rip some of the 3models with the application ninjaripper, just to see if it works)

Funfact: It made me a bit sad that there is no changing table or other diaper related objects in the ingame-nursery. All the other things were so well made.

. Sir, how would you like to be our head of development? In all seriousness though, you bring up some very good points. I guess something along the lines of an interactive movie might be more feasible.

Side note: Does anyone have any idea when Among the Sleep is coming out for ps4?? Not just for the toddler aspect (ok, mostly), it legitimately looks like a pretty kickass horror game. I also heard something about Playstation coming out with their own VR system in the near future.

That fact isn't very fun at all :frown:

Why wait for it to come out on ps4? You can just buy it on pc, it isn't that graphical of a game. Pcs form like 2005 could probably play it. Also you can just hook up a controller to it if you needed too, and you can just plug your pc into your tv screen.

Yeah I considered that. Only problem is I don't have a credit card and I don't really want to ask my parents to use theirs. Due to a long story involving them finding out about me being keen on diapers, it would be a little awkward if the only game I ever ask them to get me on PC revolves around a baby. Then again I'm probably worrying too much.

I think the same.. And DL content can alienate some customers and reduce the sales.. I'm currently working on micro project of game for android and ios and, most likely, there will be no ab and diaper related content in official release.. :sweatdrop:

What do you mean? Right person for what?

I am saying if you wanted a game like this to exist it really comes down more to the time that person has rather than can this be done or not.

Time and money, which in most cases the same :-/
The big project demands big time.. Otherwise you can take it as a hobby and spend as much time as you can..

Sounds like a project that would require serious effort. Could be done, but who would do it? The best method would be to develope a game that almost matches AB/DL interests with a built-in option to mod the game for other content. This would be like player made maps or missions. This way, the game has a large user base to cover the cost and an option for added content. A portion of the developer team could plan and produce the AB/DL content but anonymously release it as user created content.

Honestly, it's not that great a game, either. It has no baby aspects really other than your size and your teddy bear. And the head bobbing is awful. It makes me severely motion sick to the point where I can't play it (I tried a demo). The game got attention for its novel premise, but if you're wanting something with a baby experience, it's not very good.

Granted, I'd love to have a proper AB/DL virtual reality game. But as others put it, it would cost too much to develop.
