Thread: AB/Ageplay Themesong?

    Default AB/Ageplay Themesong?

    Ok maybe not...

But I often listen to kids music stations on pandora with my two kids and this one routinely comes on. I really like it. It's called "imagine" by Jetty Rae (she has a couple albums full of really pretty folksy lullabies and kids songs, many original).

But today as I was listening to this particular song in the car - it struck me that it not only fits for actual kids - but is kinda beautiful and wonderful for big adult kids as well. Like the picture she paints for little children to build in the minds is very much the picture us age players often picture.

Anyways, just wanted to share. Doubtful it is "theme song quality" (too melancholy anyways for one) - but it's worth a listen.

    Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZfmBJmpNl4

Here's the track on bandcamp... http://jettyrae.bandcamp.com/track/imagine

I always imagined a good theme song would be "The Child Inside" by Qkumba Zoo.

It's a super super sweet song. I just love it

    Here are the lyrics:

Imagine your flying through the cotton candy clouds your safe now
Imagine lying in the green green grass feel your toes sink in at last
Imagine your mother’s warm warm hug as she whispers you are loved
Imagine holding your daddy's hand building castles in the sand

You can be, whatever it is you want to be
So close your eyes and fathom all the beauty you will bring and believe

Imagine your splashing in a creek playing a game of hide and seek
Imagine swinging on a swing drifting in and out of dreams
Imagine you can see what no one else can see and you can be who no one else can be
Imagine now everything's ok like a chocolate chip cookie at the end of the day

You can be whatever it is you want to be
So close your eyes and fathom all the beauty you will bring and believe

Imagine building a fort in the woods wearing yellow capes and red hoods
Imagine you're the king of the town everyone loves it when you come around
Imagine skipping stones on the sea then hunting for treasure you and me
Imagine tomorrow and a day all the friends you'll meet all the games you'll play

Pretty, another "theme song" could be Senses Working Overtime by the British band XTC, basically a song about not caring what other people think and having fun in your own way.

Don't delude yourselves people, this is our song!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SwiPGINQDM

I can crawl around on the ground
I'm allowed to make obnoxious sounds
I can be asleep both night or day
I ain't got much hair to brush
And there ain't no need for me to flush
And that is why you'll always hear me say

Man, it sure is great to be a baby
You can sit all day and suck your thumb
I can chew my brother's toes
And play with the stuff inside my nose
And the pans in the kitchen cupboard make great drums

    (Musical Interlude)

Get strolled, carried, burped and cuddled
    Wiped, powdered, diapered, swaddled
    Hugged, tickled, dried, tossed
    Ported, dressed, kissed, washed
    Swung, spoiled, peek-a-boo!
    Pampered, nibbled, coochee-coo!
    Snuggled, cuddled, rocked and fed
Sung to, nursed and put to bed

I listened to this today and at first I was thinking, "What the heck?!" -- Didn't see what you were talking about. But once the chorus hit, I could feel it way more; it has a good 'theme-songy' groove. Completely different style than that Jetty Rae tune in folksy melodies. But to each his own
