Thread: What decade do you roleplay in?

Question What decade do you roleplay in?

Its poll time again, and i was wondering what decade you all like to roleplay in? For me, I like to roleplay like it's the early 2000's which is when I actually started roleplaying, bug I'm sure you all know that story. So I ask you, adisc, what decade do you roleplay in?

I like to role play in the 1860s as a Civil War baby. Typically I'll say, "Frankly mommy, I don't give a damn," and then I'll imagine her saying, "Well fiddle-de-dee," and stuff like that.

Then my mommy will say, "Oh baby! Them damn Yankees are a comin'. Hide in the turnip cupboard and try not to mess your diaper. They'll surely smell it and then they'll blast you full of lead, oh Lordie!

Okay....I've never actually imagined role playing or regressing in a certain era. I suppose if I did, it would be back around 1950 when I was little.

I vote 2010's, not because I really identify with this decade but because I do not have a time period. I am just as likely to watch an old original Mickey Mouse cartoon as a recent MLP or a current Disney show.

    1932 to be specific.

That was the year John Coffey came to us; it was also when the state penitentiary was still at Cold Moutain. And the electric chair was there, too, of course. I feel my mind is foggy, but that year is as clear as molasses - like a time machine that I can only use to travel back to 1932. Lord knows I want to forget what I did - that we condemned a gift from God - but it was then and here we are now.

I definitely roleplay in the modern age. I really like the stuff available to little kids nowadays - it seems to consistently increase in quality. I will watch old cartoons and stuff but I'm fine without anything vintage - modern diapers and toys are fine with me!

Try it, it feels so AMAZING, much better than a modern roleplay, this thread may be helpful for you: https://www.adisc.org/forum/showthre...e-a-year/page2

Does anyone really roleplay in the 19th century? Have you ever seen what passes for Amish toys? Or even just looked at a PDF file of a turn of the century Sears-Roebuck Christmas catalog?

Don't quote me, but I think some sissies roleplay as 19th century Victorian era toddlers (1832-1902?), so yes, it can be done, but it is very hard to pull off. I actually own a 1930's sears robuck catalogue, not much changed in the first 30 years of the 20th century, WW2 changed the country DRASTICALLY.
