Thread: Being honest to a complete stranger

Default Being honest to a complete stranger

I had an interesting experience today that I thought I would share.

I've known about this shop in my area for quite sometime, it specialises in products for the disabled and the elderly, I've never been in there before, but my curiosity got the better of me today and wow I wish I had gone in there sooner, they had all the incontinence products on a shelf towards the back of the shop (Tena slip) (molicare super plus) and a few other brands, as I was eyeball smacking the products a middle aged woman came out of what seemed like no where and asked if I needed any help.

    ......pause.......

Now this is the part where I thought I would have made up a really bad excuse for being in there, or start asking her about a totally different product that I have no interest in buying, only to make my escape moments later, but to my own surprise I didn't.

    .......Play.......

Yes I said, I'm looking for a good overnight incontinence product, to which she replied okay and led me over to the shelf by the counter stocked with diaper's, she then asked me if I knew what kind of product I wanted to which I was completely honest and told her about my bedwetting problem and that I needed something highly absorbent.
She didn't even bat an eyelid, no weird looks or anything, instead she pulled out a box from under the counter that had samples of all the products that were on display and began showing me the diaper's that might be better suited for my situation.

I then asked her about the Molicare super plus, because I haven't tried them yet so I was intrigued to find out more, so she then pulled out a sample of the Molicare and after a few minutes I had made up my mind and chose the Molicare super plus.

Before I left I thanked the woman for being so helpful, to which she smiled and said your very welcome.

Granted I was the only customer in the shop at the time, but I still can't believe how easy it was being so open to a complete stranger and how unawkward it was buying adult diaper's from a shop, I have all ways got my diaper's from the internet, but now I see no problem and will be sure to go back there to stock up, as for the Molicare super plus I'm wearing one right now and loving how thick they are.

Anyone else had a similar situation? or been completely honest to a stranger about wearing Diapers?

I actually had a similar experience. I decided I may have a chance to half ways "come out" to someone in college so I found a store that specialize in diapers and called down. I talked to the lady about what they carried and explained I lived about an hour away and said I was just starting to experience some heavy bed wetting (yeah it was a lie, but it was easier than saying I wanted to wear very thick diapers just because). I talked to her about what I wanted and she said they had most everything. I went down and she even let me try them on! They were a generic brand (she didn't believe that Abenas and other top brands were worth stocking) so I tried them on along with a washable cloth diaper with vinyl lining. I bought them because she was great to work with but I haven't gone back because I moved up from generic brands. But it was so great to be able to admit to someone that I wore diapers.

Shortly after I first joined this site, I was e-mailing my best friend from college and told him I had joined a blog site. His response back was, which site. I sat at my computer for a long time before I answered him honestly. He had been my significant other in college, but I had never told him about liking diapers. I only engaged in that when I was home. Anyway, I told him about adisc and my relationship with diapers. He was very accepting which wasn't surprising as he is an internationally known person advocating for LGBT rights, and lectures now throughout the United States on conflict resolution. He does a lot of that in high schools.

This makes me more assured that it should go well when I go to buy some diapers at a thrit store pretty soon I hope .

Well, after all it's what those medical stores are also for. They want to continue with their business, so they want to sell this kinda stuff. I guess it would be hard to find someone who doesn't want to sell them as fast as possible. Except if you go on all out about any fetish reasons or whatsoever.

Although I remember getting some strange looks, when I handed some cashiers my prescription years ago, by the time when I still did buy them that way. But I think they simply looked at me exactly, which can seem a bit strange. In the end it's been okay and they always had a quite good service, as you experienced it also. But in those times where you can order anything online, usually cheaper too, they have to score with a good service.

So as you've seen it's not that much of a big deal, if you're friendly and have the courage to say what you simply want. As it should be.
Anyway, congratulations that you have been brave enough to be open about it, and so you've been rewarded... kind of. ;)

I bought some diapers from the chemist shop a couple of weeks ago. As I was browsing, the lady who works there approached me and asked if I needed assistance. I asked about which diapers were most effective, she recommended some, and I bought them.
Surprisingly not awkward at all. No questions about who they were for, just asked for the size required and that was it!

Way to go!! I couldn't tell anyone, everything I buy is over the net. I would sort of talk a little bit on the site here but that's only cos I know I'll never see anyone face to face

OK. If you're not bothered about describing your local area please please please tell me and us the address for that shop! I go to London now and then and visiting that place would be sooo exciting! BMS
