IceChat is an IRC client for Windows. It can be downloaded for free here.
When you start IceChat, you should view something similar to what is displayed in the picture bellow. Click on the bar with "Favorite Servers" written on it.
Displayed under "Favorite Servers" is a list of every server that IceChat is currently configured to connect to. To add a new server to this list, click on the "Add New" button.
Once you click on the button, a new server wizard pop-up will appear. Type in "adisc.org" under server name and click "Next".
Set the port number to 6667 (unless you wish to use SSL encryption, in which case you need to set the port as 7001 - SSL is not covered in this guide) and click "Next".
In the "Channels" box, list all the channels you want to connect to upon start-up, separated by a comma. Once you have added every channel you are a regular in, click "Next".
Write down your ADISC username under "NickName" and click "Next".
You may leave the "Auto Perform" field blank and click "Next".
Make sure that the "Server" field is "adisc.org", that the "Port" field is either 6667 or, if and only if you wish to use SSL encryption, 7001, and that the list under "Channels" is indeed the list you want. If such is not the case, press "Previous". If all the information is okay, press "Next".
After clicking "Next", you will see this screen. Leave the "Alt. Nick" and "Away Nick" fields blank. Be mindful that the "Indent Name" and "Full Name" fields are visible to everyone, so don't put anything personally identifiable in either.
Once you're done reviewing the basic options, click on "Startup".
In the "Server Password" field, enter your ADISC password. It is recommended to check the "Auto-Connect on IceChat Startup", as it will automatically connect you to the ADISC server whenever you start IceChat. Once the password is properly set, click on "Save".
While "adisc.org" is highlighted (like in the picture - if it is not highlighted, simply click on it once) click on the "Connect" button.
You should now be connected to the ADISC chat.
