Thread: cloth diaper shrinkage

    Default cloth diaper shrinkage

I am looking at the prefold cloth at ChangingTimes. They claim about 20% shrinkage. This seems excessive to me. The flat cloth I got at AdultClotDiaper shrank about 10%.
Does anyone know what it will really do?

They really do shrink that much -- over four or five washes. This is because the twill fabric, unlike the gauze that AdultClothDiaper uses, quilts up when washed. You can really see this in the pictures. The benefit is that you end up with a lot more surface area for absorption.

The 'after washing' measurements listed on CTDC are quite accurate.
