XP was good, then I installed Windows 7 and saw it had a much better interface. Thank you Just Cause 2, DX10 for forcing me to upgrade my OS!

Also I've heard people getting better frame rates in games on Windows 8 vs Windows 7.

Our school system still has computers in the labs running Windows XP. We have a mixture of both XP and Windows 7. I've often wondered how the servers like that?

as far as a server is concerned windows is windows it all connects the same the real diffrence is UI and some diffrent settings. our city school district made the jump over summer break, i volenteered to help the IT guys swap all the district's computers to windows 7. they got a huge grant to build a new State of the art middle school and what funding they had left over upgraded the computer network.

I still prefer to run XP, jsut have better success with it, and also don't like change. I absolutely was disgusted with Windows 8, would not use it at home ever, wonder what the next system MS comes out with will be like?

Just go to Windows-7, there's no support or updates left for XP anymore, as I recall... May make it much more vulnerable to security issues...

See if you can still run the Win-7 test app, on your current machine...you can set-up the appearance of Win-7, to basically operate, and appear like XP...some things are different under the 'hood'...but it's still a car...it ain't no flying machine lol!

Yes, I'm reluctant to change too, but... you wouldn't wisely choose to drive a model- "T" on today's freeway...would you??!

p.s. I gave up XP about two years ago...

I have a scanner that only worked for XP drivers at one stage, but, I came across a generic one that does the job for Windows 7.

XP is still a super good OS, though, Micro$oft seem to have a hit and miss track record when it comes to Windows; just look at Windows 8, yuck!
