Well i'm not sure if this is correct but I class baby grows as a short sleeved and popper crotch, where a onesie to me is an all in one including feet that zips up, which I have but I would like to get a adult baby grow. I maybe wrong though they could be the same thing

    Well,

    In the uk/Europe...
Onesie - One piece pajamas with/without feet...button up or zipper up...
Baby grow - t shirt with tail that has poppers in the crotch to keep diapers up...and shirt from coming up as well...

    In the us...
Onesie is the uk equilivent of a baby grow...
Footies, footed pj's is in the uk a onesie...

Now I am from the us but used to spend some time over the pond...

There is much confusion here in the u.s.a.

We in the u.s.a. Speak American...
In the u.k. They speak English...

It's amazing how much the "same" language has diverged over the years...

Especially in the north of the u.k.

P.s. poppers in the uk are snaps in the us...FYI

Someone...not me...should get a thread or list going on the differences in the uk vs us.

There seems to always be confusion over the terms like this?

Also op...try 4 care fashion...they are my favorite of the uk vendors.

I have a very nice "babygrow" from Cuddlz. Also can't one call a babygrow a snapsuit as well? I've always called them snapsuits...

Cuddlz if you live in the UK -but if not they do ship abroad , just recently ordered a awesome onesie from there, so warm and comfortable plus they have nice metal poppers at the crotch and sound great when doing it up when you have your nappy on. I believe it was Winston Churchill who said "that the English and Americans were two people separated by a common language".

Interesting... The word "onesie" seems to be a new introduction to British English (at least, I only heard about it on ADISC!). A quick web search suggests that it is a US brand name. I'd always referred to such things as a babygro (notice the lack of a W -- I wonder if it's a UK brand name). I think it's only the UK media who incorrectly refer to footed pyjamas as "onesies".

And I've always called "poppers" press-studs. To me, poppers are amyl nitrate!
