I have a feeling those things are, if correctly made, pretty chew resistant. I'm not a biter, so I've never really seen the appeal. It's very cute though!

    Well,

I would assume they are meant for chewing on...so, shouldn't be an issue...

    Paint? I highly doubt it's paint...maybe dye...

Unless its from china...then it's lead based paint and radioactive as well

Might do some damage to your teeth and/or jaw if used excessively.

bound coder is right. teethers are made for infants who are getting in teeth. the comfort actually comes from the teether going against sore gums.

You are correct, and also if you bite on a piece of plastic it will help if you have a bad tooth as an adult too...

I'm not a dr. But I believe it is like massaging the gum and tooth roots...whatever they are called...

I've had bad teeth, broken teeth, and just stuck popcorn hull that caused issues...

Everytime I bit down on something it helped...especially something cold...

Not sure it would do much to harm your teeth...people chew gum all day and I doubt you'd be putting too much pressure that it can harm your teeth, people also chew jawbreakers as well...

    My 2 cents

Well, Japan may be the latest...

But plenty of radioactive things in china...I know they still use radioactive paints on some alarm clocks...

Also, the Japanese would at least label it...in Japanese of course!

I've never thought of a teether, but I tend to chew on my paci a lot when I have it in my mouth, mostly out of frustration for the Nuk 5 being juuuust a bit small for me. I'm ordering a Nuk 7 as we speak!

And Now that I've seen this thread, I sort of want a teether. But not the animal shaped kind. I want the teether ring. Seems much simpler, and much more aimed at the direct purpose rather than having fancy add-ons like the squeaker.

I'm not a dog nor a baby-fur. I don't wanna be squeaking all day while I happily chew on something.
