Thread: Can you be a DL without actually wearing Diapers?

Default Can you be a DL without actually wearing Diapers?

The title says it - can you be a Diaper Lover without wearing diapers?

Many of us have actually 'loved' the idea of wearing diapers ever since we were kids. One cannot forget the tingles (and awkwardness) when a diaper ad comes up on TV, or when we see our little cousin or neighbour still in diapers. Then when we discover DLism (or ABDLism), we get a perspective shift and suddenly it is okay to wear diapers. We don't hurt anyone by wearing. Or do we?

On the surface it seems that you CAN be a DL without actually physically wearing a diaper. But it seems so... odd. Would I violate some natural order? Would I be ill-regarded by my own community (DL community that is). And would I lose my DL identity if I stop it?

I have realised that there is more to DLism (and ABDLism) then just wearing diapers. Yes, it is an integral part, yes, but theres more.

So I want to know what do you guys think - can you be a DL without actually wearing diapers?

The same way you can be a car enthusiast without actually having any cars. Yes you can.

I love Porsches. Even if I could afford it, my cheap genes probably wouldn't let me buy one.

There have been long periods of time when I had to go without diapers for one reason or another. That never meant that I wouldn't if I could.

Being a DL is defined for me as the desire not the act. It's sad when a DL can't wear when they wish but that doesn't make them any less a DL. I went for several years not wearing while I was living at home. The second inadvertant discovery made it apparent to me it wasn't worth it. I never stopped being a DL, I just stopped acting on it because the potential harm to me and my family was greater than the enjoyment. Now that I'm on my own, I'm free to pursue that as I wish.

I agree with everyone above, you can be a DL and not wear. I haven't been able to wear in over a year do to having a roommate that is always home during my free time, and that I can not fiscally justify my desire to wear at the moment.

Though my desire is never far from thought and some times its hard for me to cope, but I take solace in the fact that I have told my wife and she knows that it is party of who I am, and when we don't have a roommate and have spending money, that I will be able to enjoy wearing without fear of ridicule or the need to hide it.

Yes you can be. Just like you can be gay and not date other men and not have sex with them or how you can be a pedophile and not pray on children and not do child porn.

I have liked diapers since I was nine and I was still a DL even though I didn't wear them. Even going in denial and not wearing them because you feel it's wrong, you are still a DL. Going to the websites is a hint you are one.

I'm a DL, I currently am not wearing and haven't worn in about 3 months and probably won't for a few more weeks but I'm still a DL because I still love diapers and still find them arousing (of course you still be a DL without the fetish but I am not like that). Like Trevor I think it is all about the thoughts rather than the action, hell it is those thoughts that lead to the action in the first place is they're the driving force for basically every DL.

Diapers are a part of my being although wearing isn't always a part of what I do, I'm a human being not a human doing.

Surely the enjoyment you get from visual cues, without actually wearing, is merely the anticipation of wearing.

Well, we are what we think I guess. What you said did strike a chord in me Trevor.

I've always wondered how was I going to Justify this. I mean, wrong is wrong and (to my dad) wearing diapers is wrong. I keep my secret identity but it's like a cake without the toppings.

I feel kinda sad if a abdl can't have his/her diapers because it is like the (for many) the only person they knew who liked wearing diapers now doesnt/can't. There's always sacrifice. Human emotion sacrifice.
