Thread: Good games for the DS?

Default Good games for the DS?

I got a GameStop gift card a few months ago, and I decided to spend it to get my hands on a DSi and some games.

What I got along with it was Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III & IV, and Trauma Center 1 & 2.

I have been enjoying all of these games very much. But now I am wondering - what else out there is up to the same high quality as the games I just listed above?

I look at the DS section of the game store, and I see a lot of games that I would rather not have anything to do with. It seems like the DS market is overflowing with lousy games.

So, to anybody else who has a DS - any recommendations?

There's a remake of the original Fire Emblem game on the DS. I think it's called Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon or something. It's the only one on the DS, the others are for Gameboy Advance, Wii, or Gamecube (unless you get the original Japanese ones that go back to the old SNES).

    > The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
    > The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (My favorite Zelda game EVA!)
    > Mario Kart DS (Not the best Mario Kart, but all Mario Karts are fun :3 )
    > Any of the Pokemon games (D/P/Pt/SS/HG/B/W) and the Mystery Dungeons (Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Time/Darkness)
    > New Super Mario Bros. (The only Mario Bros. I've ever been able to beat)

I own a DS only for the Pokemon games, personally I love them. Any of the main series are great games, and a few of the spin offs are okay, but they are a bit hit and miss.

I second The World ends With You. It's a really great game story and gameplay wise. the music is freaking fantastic in it too. Easily one of the top 40 games of this generation (console and handheld.)
