Thread: AB/DL Magazine ?

    Question AB/DL Magazine ?

So I'm doing my econonmy homework, and one of the question was talking about what factors come into play when you want to start a new magazine. I though to myself; It needs to have a large group of people who have a common interest, needs to have function, and have interesting articles. Then i realized couldnt there be a Ab/Dl magazine !! What do you think about this ?

Well if it was a "real" magazine (not online version) that came in the mail obviously there would be problems for DL's who still live with their parents or roommates or whatever. You mean an online magazine right ?

There used to be a mail order ABDL magazine in the US called "Diaper Pail Friends" or "DPF" .....

I assume you're talking about a non-porn magazine here, in which case the problem is distribution: there are enough ABDL people in the US to support a print magazine, but you'd have to get news stands to stock it, and then people to go in and buy it, and you'd have to have a very wide distribution, as there are (as far as I know) no clusters of ABDL population.

The other point is: why would anyone buy an ABDL mag that wasn't porn? They can get all the "community" content they want much easier, faster and for free on-line form sites like ADISC or the Big Little Podcast...

DPF was a direct mailed subscription.

I had always thought about doing a version that was a PDF file. Something that could be e-mailed out, and if the reader wanted to print it, they could. There could also be a print edition option, where the subscriber would get one mailed to them in a plain white/yellow/gray catalog envelope.

I am definately interested in helping with a monthly/semi-monthly newsletter.

I don't see why it would be worth bothering with a newsletter PDF, when you could easily make a collaborative blog, and then improvise a paywall around it if you wanted to charge for content.

a PDF would be an easy way to be able to email the newsletter directly to the subscriber

When you think how many magazines have gone out of business because of online sites and electronic media, an AB/DL magazine would never survive. Magazines are very expensive to print and then distribute. You have to have a large staff and very expensive printing equipment. But online production is cheap. Considering that most AB/DL people live in secrecy, it's not likely they would openly buy one in a store.
