Default Making AB/DL along with Diaper Wearing Socially Acceptable and even Popular

Hey everyone, I am curious what you think needs to happen to make wearing diapers more socially acceptable. Formerly taboo topics like homosexuality and femenism (if you go way back) have gained a lot of momentum and acceptance over the last 20 years alone and I think the same needs to happen for this. A fetish is expected to be not-as socially accepted but it is unacceptable that incontinence still caries about a taboo"ness" to it that is completely unjust to those who gave it. So what needs to happen in your opinion to make diaper wearing more popular and acceptable?

Get a popular celebrity to 'come out' or be caught... That would probably do it.

Seriously, though, I'd say education is the only real way forward. Sadly, this requires us as a community to be more proactive and less embarrassed.

That said, I'm not quite sure where the opportunities to educate may lie...

In current society, I think you'd need a significant portion of the population to suddenly develop a diaper fetish.

I think homosexuality is largely become more accepted because it applies to a significant portion of the population. The same can not be said about us, nor the large variety of other "out there" fetishes (amputee fetishism, plant fetishism, etc..). There are literally hundreds of odd-ball fetishes out there with the same kind of following.. same kind of support forums, same magazines, same niche porn...

I don't foresee large scale acceptance through the same path that homosexuality is become accepted.. simply because your average person has most likely never met another ABDL. At best it gets lumped in with "people who are into weird stuff" .. at worse people assume it has something with pedophilia (this is an extra hurdle we would have to get over that the plant guys don't).

The only path to acceptance I see is people fully embracing individuality and diversity and such.. to the point where one can, in casual conversation say, "I fantasize about making love to a sunflower" and the harshest response being "well, that's interesting!". Only action I can recommend to push this along is try and live by this attitude yourself.

Hate to be depressing.. but that's really how I see it.

NOTE: non-fetish diaper wearing is a completely different issue with different problems.. but I have no experience there so can't comment.

i agree we need a celeberity to make it popular but there is a problem...depending on their sex...it could get wierd. A women would be unlikely as ABDL's are male 95% of the time. If he were a guy...im not sure if other guys would copy him based on the fact he is a celebrity. So that is the problem...if it was a very popular and widely recognized beautiful woman, then the guys may be more inclined to try it out.

Im no deekerist but I think there is something to be said about a very common natural male liking to diapers. I dont know about the baby and regression sides, but the phenomina that there are a bunch of guys who like diapers seems a lot more widespread then we think. I have a very brave friend who bed-wets but still has a lot of friends and a lot of sleepovers...over the last few years, 6 of his friends have become DL's to some degree and have started wearing diapers! We have to remember that many of these people dont look to the internet for others to confide in...I think this has the potential to spread now that statisticly, kids are staying in diapers longer and that childrens diapers (not adult diapers) are getting better and better. Now, more kids are going to be remembering how much they liked diapers on their own...so I think it is possible that it could also spread that way.

Well, the whole wearing diapers and using them thing isn't so bad now. A lot of people in various levels of society make a personal decision to use diapers. So culturally we're all set there.

As for a ABDL rights parade, I think we're a couple years off. Especially with the massive amounts of negative attention we have been recieving. And no, I do not exclusively mean certain website owners.

A while back it was suggested Brad & Angelina were into diapers, along with many other sexual fetishes. But either it got swept under the carpet or was proven to be false. Either way, they would have been perfect spokespeople!

However, I'm of the camp that I accept I have a deviation from a "normal" sexual palette, but don't want to share it with others. I don't want to wear diapers 24/7, I don't want to be a baby 24/7, and I don't really want anyone else to know I am either.

If it was socially acceptable, I'd probably wear to the cinema/pub/theme park/festival without worrying - but not for my normal day to day life anyway.

I agree...we need a person who is known to come out about this...they need to explain what it is and why they do it. The most important thing they can do is make it look attractive...which im sure of of them could do very well.

The biggest thing though is what the public has thought that needs to change. When they see pictures or threads about this, those who dont understand it think its pedophilia. Although this is wrong, I understand why they think this and it needs to stop...we need to keep a closer eye of inappropriate activity on these sites and refuse to tolerate it. Our image has to stop of being some group of perverted adults that want to do sick things with children. This has to stop!!

I think another thing we should think about is what will happen if diapers become popular and accepted. I think that the diapers themselves will improve in quality. Perhaps we could see a real adult pull up or real adult pampers? Perhaps these will be sold in stores and not just online? Who knows!

even asuming that ad/dl became popular in culture you would still see only a few people giving sings they are a abdl, even if it was accepted you wouldnt see anyone in diapers unless you looked or it was very noticeable ,pacis are small and are linked with raving and i dont think many people would wear baby clothing out at all ,so if it did happen you wouldnt see a change that would be viewable ,i guess it would only make it easyer on the acceptance part ,that would probaly be the best thing ,but still society sees and links abdl with pedophillia due to the "baby part" ,which it is not at all linked with ,i guess if someone famous enougth came out and made it sound inocent like it is ,just people that find diapers make them feel happy /safe /comftable ,this would change the mind of a few people and hopefully help but from guessing i say around 1-3 percent of people are ab/dl any way.

Like I said, Im not one who believes in the Deeker Doctrine or whatever but I do believe that many boys naturally like their diapers. As our parts are exposed, we get a gratification from urinating in diapers....they are warm, cozy, and can arouse many of us. I have heard very few stories of boys or men who try diapers and dont like it...for young children potty training...many of them dont like it because they know they arnt supposed to like it and that everyone around them thinks they need to wear underwear. Those who were potty trained more than 20 years ago have another excuse because diapers were not nearly as comfortable then. So any memories of them would not be pleasent. Now...things have changed. Baby Diapers and Bedwetting pants have become very comfortable over the last 20 years which is why, I believe, we have seen such an increase in people who are admitting this.

I simply think if boys and men are given a reason to try them again, I think many will realize that they like their diapers too

I think there is a greater chance that fetishes as a whole might be accepted, or if not accepted, then at least, entertained as an alternative lifestyle. Lumped together, we have greater numbers, and diversity. As for more people wanting to wear diapers because of some level of acceptance, I think there is a fallacy there. I don't believe more people are gay because there's greater acceptance. You either are gay or you aren't. It's just that life will be a little easier than it was in the fifties.

If diaper wearing was accepted to some degree, one would still have to have our special quirk to want to wear. I understand more people are in to age play in Japan, and perhaps the acceptance is greater there, so who knows.
