^^ Nair is not a good alternative for some of us. For instance, my hair is entirely too much, and on the couple of times I've tried Nair, it's mostly resulted in nasty chemical burns underneath hair that didn't get removed.

As for razor burn, about the only thing to do is go with the grain and try not to go over the same spot over and over again. This usually results in a mediocre shave, but it does avoid razor burn. Also, shaving with a good shaving gel or cream can help some.

    anti-inflammatory tablet and cooling air.

anything else will cause irritation and/or infection. next time, trim with clippers, don't shave.

Urm...well, use some kind of shaving cream?

Here, I found this site and it seems to have some good info about shaving.

Can you use Nair on your pubic hair? I just bought some but I'm hesitant to use it.

Are you speaking of regular shaving or "down there" ?

    *edit*
Takes another look at forum thread... DOH !

For future reference, try only to shave just after showering.
Dont use the same blade as for your face, reduce bacterial infections.
    Remember to stretch skin taught.

After shaving, splash with really cold water and then use some shaving cream/balm.

My personal favorite is my philipsh TT2040 Bodygroom.
It can both trim and shave and it never nicks my skin.
I also i find that when hair grows back it itches less than with using a blade.
