Thread: Binki question!

  1. #1

    Default Binki question!

I've heard that binkis can mess up your teeth. Does anyone know if this is completely founded? I've noticed that smaller binkis seem to pull on my front top teeth, but bigger ones don't seem to do it so bad. I don't use one all that often because of this(though I do love them sooooo much ), but I just wanted others input, especially if we have a professional with a professional opinion out there

I misread the title as "Bikini question!" and was intrigued.

Anyway, my teeth do hurt after using my 'binki' for a while... so maybe it is possible to damage your teeth. However, I seriously doubt that it would be possible to do damage to your teeth through normal usage... so unless that things in most of the day, everyday, I can't see it being a problem!

Sucking on a bikini however would be a choking hazard.

    He he, me too.

No, unless you keep it in your mouth 24/7, I think you will be fine.

I hope not...I think they are known to mess up incoming teeth with formation and such, but let's hope it's only that. Then again, I wear braces so I might be covered, lol.

I've always heard it's while your teeth are growing in. So don't do it while your adult teeth are growing in.

After they've been there a while, it's bone, so it shouldn't be a problem, but continuous pressure, will adjust them forward.

It's why they redesigned all the pacifiers and bottles, so it wouldn't mess with the way the teeth grow in as much.

They used to be round (thus pushing your teeth forward):

Now they're more flat so they have much less impact:
