Default What nipple do you boil

someone mentioned on another post that you should boil your bottle nipples because of the nasty tast . Do you boil the silicon and old style tan ones? What about pacifiers

When you first buy a pacifier you are supposed to keep it in boiled water for 5 minutes to sterilize it.

Certainly not the ones on my chest!

Actually, I remember my mom using boiling water to sterilize the old brown ones, but that was before the age of silicone. We never boiled any for our daughter, simply washed them in the dishwasher.

Wouldn't washing them in the dishwasher ruin them?

Top rack in a small items basket. We had no problems with them.

Yeah, you can boil either of them. But if your nipple is tasting weird, I don't know if boiling is going to help. That might be a sign that it's time to get a new one. And yes, it's the same with pacifiers, too.

Many firms make racks and baskets so washing baby bottles, nipples and pacifiers in the dishwasher is easy and practical.

I also boil every nipple and pacifier before I use them the first time.

All of these things are designed and made to be boiled.
