Thread: Can't Hear

    Default Can't Hear

Well for about the last 2 weeks, I have had much decreased hearing in my left ear. I have googled it and it seems like a "middle ear" infection. I have made an appointment with the Dr. but it will be another month and a half before I get in. Problem is, is that this really effects my hearing, like if someone talks in the direct of my left ear, I can barely hear anything. Basically what I am wondering is if anyone else has had a situation like this and what did you do to try to get your hearing back? Also, I take antibiotics for acne, would those maybe be able to help clear up my infection in my ear?

Considered liquid parafin and cotton buds?

I don't recommend sticking anything in your ears like cotton buds but using baby oil or something might be a good idea.

Oil like baby oil or olive oil helps to soften the ear wax in your ear. Look here How to Get Rid of Ear Wax

Any oil based ear drops will be good too, like Earex if you have it there. Don't put cotton buds down there and don't go anywhere near hydrogen peroxide stuff.

I do a lot of swimming, and occasionally get some water trapped under wax in the ear canal. There are over-the-counter drops that clear it right up.

See your local doctor, like, not a specialist or anything, if you can, and have them do an ear flush. They do a safe method of basically squirting water directly into your ear with a bucket at the ear lobe, and wash out all the wax, which may be the problem.

You're deaf for life. I'm sorry but I am a doctor and I know these kind of things. You should start learning sign language and get a book that is written in braille. Also, you should look into therapy for limb loss. I know some good doctors that will help with your paraplegic state. ALSO, since I am in the same boat as you, there are some good hair restoration clinics around the country you might like to take a gander at. Just a thought...wait WAT?
