    Exclamation Snow in the East Coast Part III: (The Blizzard of '10!!! Pts 1 and 2))

    By now, we in the DMV (DC, Maryland,Virginia) area must be sick of snow due to having 2 4" snow storms in the past week. But, according to the National Weather Service we (and the East Coast pretty much) will apparently get another foot or two of snow just like the storm that occurred in December 19.

    Courtesy of National Weather Service Website

    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A
    WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING
    THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

    * PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.

    * ACCUMULATIONS...THIS STORM IS LIKELY TO PRODUCE 12 OR MORE
    INCHES OF SNOW IN THE WATCH AREA...WITH A GOOD CHANCE FOR
    LOCALIZED AMOUNTS OVER 20 INCHES.

    * TIMING...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN LATE MORNING
    FRIDAY...CONTINUING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

    * TEMPERATURES...HIGHS IN THE LOWER TO MID 30S FRIDAY. FRIDAY
    NIGHT AND SATURDAY...TEMPERATURES WILL BE 25 TO 30 DEGREES.

    * WINDS...EAST 5 TO 10 MPH FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...BECOMING
    NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH SATURDAY.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

    THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE SIMILAR TO THE DECEMBER 19TH STORM.
    PLAN FOR SUBSTANTIAL DISRUPTIONS TO TRAVEL FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
    The predictions in the Radar are already pretty scary and this storm should be a repeat of what we in the East Coast faced before. So, I would just say get ready cause apparently we can put a case on the inevitable, and BRING IT ON MOTHER NATURE!!!!!!

    I heard the blizzard to come could potentially be as bad as the east coast's Blizzard of 78'

    According to what I heard so far this may be another miss or near miss for us again, I'm beginning to enjoy this weather pattern.

    Most of the snow will fall below the I-80 line according to what I head so far.

    I like the snow. It gives me an excuse for not going to work/school. They aren't really blizzards though. They are above average snowfalls, but I wouldn't call them blizzards.

    It's getting to be a bit much. I've been out of school 3 days this week, and I finished a chapter on my book. I've got to take my wife up to Charlottesville tomorrow to the foot specialists. Unfortunately, it's infected again, so if they put her in the hospital up there, I won't be able to see her on Friday. It never fails.

    By now I can be sick of the snow as well but as a senior in high school, you just don't want to be there anymore. We have had 4 snow days and as long as it doesn't cut into my spring break, bring it on! Grades Pre-K to 11 can suffer an extended school year but my cutoff date is already set in the week before Memorial Day! I don't really do that much to begin with but hey more time here than in school.

    Its supposed to be from Friday Night to around Sunday but already the majority of the region where I live (DMV) is in a Winter Storm Watch. This means that most of the models already confirm it but I can imagine that with your location it could potentially go up north. Maybe the New England area will find out tomorrow.
