Thread: Babyfur Bashing

    Default Babyfur Bashing

Hello. As some of you may be aware I have recently become a furry/babyfur and was looking at getting involved with some sites. However, I have become aware that babyfurs don't seem to be that popular. At best they are looked down on and at worst considered paedophiles. Now I don't consider myself to be just a babyfur (I'm multi-faceted) but I don't want it to cause me trouble either.

I was just wondering what your experiences of this attitude in the wider fandom were? Any tales of people being more or less accepting then you were expecting? I just want to get an idea of how much of a problem it is.

I suppose ultimately what I want to know is how much you seperate babyfur stuff from general furry stuff, if at all. I'm trying to get an idea about how much I should hide my interests in this.

    Thanks for the help!

I mean my exposure of myself into the furry world isn't a ton, But I frequent FA and their forums quite a bit and honestly outside of a recent thread I haven't gotten any guff from it and the forums on it was really only covering the bad connotations that become associated with it so I can't completely fault it for that.

Honestly I have a little symbol right at the top of my account making it very apparent that I'm a babyfur and I have heard nothing negative, so I wouldn't be all that worried if I were you

Being a minority in a minority group is hard. I am farily well known in the Syfney fur group around here and some people do know that i am a babyfur (either ive told them or they have found out by other means). Most of the people over hear though arnt really to concerned with what goes on behind closed doors. I dont publlically announce that i am a babyfur but then again i dont bother to hide it. For some people that have done a whois on me on IRC it has even been a conversation starter in some rare instances. There have been a couple of negative responses from the people i told but that still doesnt stop us from talking and being friends. As far as the wider furry community is concerned though i didnt think it was that much of a problem. Most of us still hide the fact that we are babyfurs (hide it from general public and/or general furry community) for fear of persecution or some form of conflict. That being said however #babyfurs on the furnet server is one of the 5 most popular channels on the server. There is hardly ever any problems that happen in that room.

Now that i have finished my rambling i put it to you, do you want to put yourself out there and risk being shutdown by a group of narrowminded people/furs, or just go on not broadcasting the fact you are babyfur but not hiding it?

    The choice is yours.

there is a lot of furs that really have no love for a babyfur. i have met a few of these and really, the ignore button works wonders, yes i have seen the disputes between furs and babyfurs all over the place and frankly, i dont see the real bit problem with it. we are as we are and nothings going to change it.

i am an open babyfur to the people i know and i am not afraid to meet new furends out there, weather they accept me for who i am or not is there choice, but for the most part no one cares that im a babyfur aslong as i dont push it on the other fur to tri and get him to indulge in it. and most of the time i dont push nothing on anyone.

i ave been trolled once because of who i am, felt kinda special though that someone went out of there way to get to know my furend a bit more, impersonated her to get me to stop going to a site and that i should grow up and drop the babyfur.

i find it common to be looked down on for a lot of stuff. heck go to e621.net and search babyfurs, look at the tattoo pics and see some of the comments in there, i was sick to my stomic when i started to read some of them for the comments people were leaving.

    >_< from what i find... us babyfurs are the most hated furs... i think it must have to do with the fact that one furs are already.... frowned upon and so are *b/dl's... so they think... 2 wrongs make a abismal even if they are alreat 1/2 way there... ((as in the furs that make fun of babyfurs))... that or maybe they wish they where as unique as us... but even with the bigets i have not personaly had any problems with people makeing fun of me for being a babyfur... i have however had more problems with people knowing i wear diapers in the first place

I've been an open babyfur for a year now and I've had my fair share of negative reactions, however the majority of people wont judge, I tend to keep the babyfur-ish antics low key during normal furmeets and only let myself get carried away at conventions and such other times that i'm with a group of us.

As long as you can find a balance between normal furry and babyfur things will be fine, I can think of only three people so far who have prejudged me for being a babyfur and quite frankly its their problem they cant accept me as a person because of a label not mine.

Identifying as a babyfur does tend to get a lot of positive reactions too and if I fursuit then interactions tend to play on that fact (being spoken to/treated like a child/puppy would)

I do remember quite a few conversations with DL's and even general furries at Eurofurence this year how the way I conduted myself had changed their perceptions of babyfrs in contrast to their experiences with more OTT mid conversation "Excuse me I need to change, I'm leaking" types.

IMO good or bad responses from others depend on how much your behaviour freaks them out. All comes down to common sense really.

I keep it like how I do with being a ABDL. You have some furs that just run around and be cubish to everyone knowing that some don't like babyfur but keep pushing the wrong buttons on those people and thats where some hate comes from.

But then you have some that just like to bash at just for no reason, they think its wrong (like some do with gays) and think you are a pedophiles, No matter what you tell them.

Bashing has kinda caused a good artist to stop drawing and i think leave the fandom (he said he might come back). Mind you he did a lot of cub porn but his clean ones was some of the best Baby/little fur drawing. Userpage of ediskrad -- Fur Affinity [dot] net

The main place your going to find fur hate is inside of IRC and image boards. The local furs know I'm a babyfur, and there's no issues with it as I don't go cubbed out in front of them in such.

Er.. Edis was predominately a cub porn artist. He only had a few "babyfur" pictures, but the vast majority was just cub art. It really sucks that he's left due to trolls getting to close :/

Trolling in general is lame, its the reason Foxmas was shut down , some stupid SA goons talked to the hotel and "warned" them of what babyfurs do
