Thread: The Belief-O-Matic

  1. #1

    Default The Belief-O-Matic

So right now I'm taking some theology in school right now and the professor had us take a couple of quizzes to give people an idea about what religion their beliefs and morals coincide with. The other quiz was taken to try and decide what kind of spiritual type you are. So I thought I would make these quizzes available to the everyone here who would like to take them.

So here are my results. I really not surprised by them since I do consider myself a Roman Catholic and believe just about everything Catholicism teaches so I am pretty happy with my results.

Active Spiritual Seeker Spiritual but turned off by organized religion

I have taken the main quiz three times now. The first time I was full blown catholic. The second time I ended up with mostly Buddhism and Taoism, but still some christianity. And now this time, I'm Universal Unitarian/Non-Religious.

The second quiz is pretty accurate for me. I'm opposed to large, organised religions because they get us absolutely nowhere and cause more harm than good. Spirituality should be a personal journey, practiced in the comfort and privacy of your own home, where you do not have to conform to other people's beliefs or ideas. Because everyone is different, and no one believes the same thing as anyone else. You can ask a thousand different people for their interpretation of holy texts, and get a thousand different answers.
