I sometimes let mine hang out a bit if I notice I'm drooling.

It seems to be a pretty common complaint. At least you're in good company with all the drooling babies. It's rarely a problem for me but it's hard to say what I'm doing differently than everyone else.

I just have a piece of cloth it's rather thick and wooly to catch the drool now.

If I'm having a moment with The Strawb and I want to nap, I'll pull my 'touching blanket' up and put my face on it. So I don't drool on my pillow. XD My blankie can be washed easier.
(A 'touching blanket' is just my term for a blanket that I like the feel of. I like to fall asleep touching it. *shrugs*)
