Thread: The ABDL Image

This is basically another "why ABDL porn" thread, which was made a couple days ago in another subtopic. I couldn't care less what other people think of it, because other than two people IRL in my life ever, no one knows I like it. I will only be concerned when I tell my next SO about this, and in that case, I have the utmost faith that she won't have had any exposure to it at all, and then I can gracefully guide her to places other than YouTube so she can learn about it.

I don't give a damn about how well-received this is in the eyes of the public.

That's part of the problem. I tried looking up AB/DL videos several times just looking for a cute video (in place of an IRL encounter), and was treated to an assortment of girls peeing/pooping in diapers in a very exaggerated fashion, if not worse. Even though I constantly use diapers for their intended purpose, that's not all there is to being like this, and the videos and few outside resources that exist don't really illustrate that. It even took me a while to educate my friends about it because they kept asking the same questions. "So wait, do you pee in them?" What the hell do you think I do? I put up with it because they honestly don't know, but one search for "abdl-anything" on any search engine can explain their ignorance.

OK I gotta say it, what the heck search words are you using in youtube to get peeing/pooping videos? If I search abdl or ddlg or adult baby I get youtubers like myself (but bigger better channels LOL) making lil space vids, educational vids, rant/vent/vlog vids. I don't think I've ever gotten a peeing/pooping video come up in search without those specific words in it.

Yes it's a bit shocking the first time you see a grown person in a paci, onsie, etc for the first couple minutes but not THAT shocking.

Not so much recently, but I have come across peeing/pooping videos before when I searched in YouTube (I usually search Diaper Girl or ABDL girl as I'm a straight ABDL guy); and maybe that's why some people seems so disgusted about ABDL, because some videos are about the most "disgusting" aspect (peeing/pooping isn't exactly glorious; lol).

OK, I'm just preaching to the choir, but, for us, there is one good thing that can be achieved by seeing disgusting and creepy behavior on the internet. It gives us direct, personal insight into how quickly feelings of disgust and judgement can form, and how strong those feelings can be for everyone, including ABDLs.

I know that we could probably all agree that in the general public, the ABDL community has a bit of stigma surrounding it. However, I feel like a relatively big part of this "gross" image that we have is due to the type of content posted online; specifically to large and commonly used sites like YouTube.

As an example: If you were to search "diaper lover" on YouTube (good content aside) there are a lot of messing / wetting videos. I don't have anything against people doing this, but if a non-ABDL is trying to educate themselves after a friend or family member came out about it, or an individual researching for the next documentary, I am sure it must have a pretty big factor in their opinion of the community.

I'm not really too sure what could be done about this other than everyone being more careful about what they post to public platforms. Just my thoughts, feel free to share yours...
I do think there's a problem. When I was getting a divorce, it was used against me in court, and I think it contributed to my lack of adequate visitation with my kids or custody. This stung me badly. Pride is coming up and there will be an ABDL booth, but I'm terrified that anyone I know would see me there. So much so that my ex-girlfriend may go with mr (we are developing a nice friendship).

The stigma comes from the fact that we like to wear diapers and do other things that only babies do. Most people have never seen any specifically ABDL content; they are just predisposed to think that something must have gone wrong with anyone interested in such a thing. (And it's not as though seeing ABDL content other than peeing and pooping videos would give anyone a better opinion. Show them babyfur art, or a picture of an adult wearing a bib and eating with his hands in a high chair, or a picture of a LittlePawz, or a non-sexual ABDL story, or whatever you want. The uninitiated are going to think it's all bizarre.)

It's not pathological that people's gut reaction is to think that ABDL is weird. That's how it'll always be. There are lots of people who will agree that it's not a big deal if they have to think about it for a while, but they generally are not made to think about it for a while, and their gut reaction will always be: ABDL = weird. Which is fine. What the average person thinks about ABDL matters not a whit.

it does seem like more people are at least using diapers lately, which i think is a good thing. It makes me happy when I see ads for them on tv
