Thread: Futurama flies into the wild green yonder (again)

Default Futurama flies into the wild green yonder (again)

I've just watched the final Futurama film, Into the Wild Green Yonder. It's a good send off for the Simpson's superior relative, and can compete with the previous finale of The Devils Hands are Idle Playthings.

I'll avoid mentioning the events of the film in the OP, to avoid spoiling it for anyone who's waiting to watch it during the TV episodes.

So has anyone else seen the Futurama movies? What is your opinion on them?

I hope they do make another season, but it doesn't seem likely atm, with the recession.

I have seen "The beast with a billion backs" and "Bender's Big Score" and I am happy with both of them. I hope to see the remaining movies when I get the chance.

I really like Futurama... but I haven't seen any episodes for a long time.

I seen all 4 of the movies and they were okay. However the first two movies were clearly the best I think. Benders game seemed like a whole lot of filler, though it was nice to see a lot of D&D references.

I actually though Bender's Game was one of the better ones. If I had to pick one as the worst, I would of gone with Beast with a Billion backs.

Benders Big Score is the only one I've seen. I enjoyed it. Will try to see the others.

I watched all the episodes in order. They make a really amazing-er story that way. I loved all the seasons, and I loved all four of the movies!

I am trying not to spoil anything, so you might not want to read anymore...
On the topic of the latest movie:
If you have seen it, you know how it ends... I heard a friend say Matt is trying to get a deal with Fox again so he can start producing Futurama seasons again. Can anyone confirm this? I have looked all over and I think he might have just been lying...

That's what I was worrying about. I intensely love the series, it just got better and better as it went along and ended on such a perfect, subtle note with "Idle Playthings". When they came back with "Bender's Big Score", I was so disappointed with it that I didn't even follow up on the sequels. Hearing this kind of testimonial from a fellow "Futurama" fan has probably persuaded me to finally get the others.

To blab further on, "Idle Playthings" was so perfect...unlike most series finales, it didn't end with some epic, teary send-off wrapping up every loose end in the series or bringing the entire story to a close...it just left on a sweet quiet moment in which more was actually said with less. It'd be hard to top that.

I put way too much thought into this kind of stuff. :\
