Thanks for all the the replies! I don’t always stay dry but when I do I have started to wear more than once, to save a few bucks. It’s not the best, I like the act of putting on or being put in a diaper more than sliding one back on. Oh well c’est la vie
Although my overnight diapers are almost always soaked by morning, my morning and afternoon wear often stays dry. It's not uncommon for me to get home and feel like changing into something cool and fresh without having already wet the diaper I put on in the morning, so I slide it down and set it in the drawer for later. Gives it a chance to cool down and any humidity to dry up too. That may be the evening diaper I change into the next afternoon when I get home from work. Meanwhile I may change out of that diaper to put on my overnight with it still dry.
So it's not uncommon for me to have one or two worn but not used diapers in the drawer at any given time. Makes changes fast and easy too, just pull it up. Yes I enjoy taping on a new diaper, but as some have pointed out theres a thrifty side to reusing clean diapers. I'd never put back on a wet diaper though. It's nice to be totally free with the option to wet though, because I have plenty of diapers and I'm never worried about running out. I often get an urge to pee when splashed with water at the sink or maybe out filling the birdbath etc, and can just immediately let go and continue with what I was doing, without hardly a thought
Not counting overnight diapers, I'd guess around 2/3 of the diapers I throw away are dry. But the dry ones are usually pretty physically worn out from being worn several hours so I don't feel I haven't gotten my "use" out of them. Many if I
had wet them would be more of a problem because the sap might have been starting to get out of the back sheet or had clumped to where it might have leaked or the padding was already too broken up and clumped up in the crotch from activity anyway.
I wear diapers because I
enjoy wearing diapers, so for me wetting is a bonus activity to confirm my diapered condition, or just an added convenience. Not considering anything an obligation makes any hobby more enjoyable. I'm doing what I want to do, not what I
have to do.
