Hey I am not someone who is ic but it has came across my mind sometimes. but I also now its not a very good road to go down I would much rather wear for the convenience but I was wondering if you can give me an insight to being incontinent and maybe this could help the people whose thinking about it.
I hope you show those people as much respect as I have shown you

For me, being incontinent is like being a DL when it's horribly inconvenient. There's no choice or option to wear - it's a requirement. When it's hot, sweaty, and nasty out, you still have to wear. It's having to ensure you have enough protection with you at all times, because if you don't, you WILL end up with a leak, and murphy's law says it'll probably be at the most embarassing moment.

If you want to wear for pleasure, go for it! Have fun! Wear 24/7 if you feel like it, but it's always better to have that option, to have a choice to not wear at certain times, than it is to not have it.

To start off with No one really wants to be incontinent I surely do not! If I could get over the reactions to anesthesia I would have surgery to regain my continence. First of all its the expense of being incontinent you will have to deal with its very expensive medical condition to deal with. Second is the endless wetting and messing your backside that requires cleaning and care. Third is the never ending changing your diaper during the day maybe 3-5 times depending on what you do. Fourth is you will have to resolve yourself to a life of being incontinent and believe me it aint fun! Fifth is the disposal and sanitation the smell can be awful if you do not take care of the used diapers properly and timely. Sixth is dealing with others in public that will make fun of you or mock you that is hurtful I get sad first then its a bout of karma in their face ! Seventh is dealing with the icky feeling of being wet I hate the wake up in the morning its bloody degrading to wake up to a soaking wet diaper some days I cry ! yes still after all these years I cry ! You will have to get used to going while you are eating and you cannot control it that is a god awful experience I tell you. Luck has it I had only one real bad diaper rash in the hottest days of summer I was reeling in pain and thats a reality you will have to get used to I do not wish Incontinence on anyone ! Some I have wanted to give them a ex lax as payback but that is cruel I take the high road ! This medical condition in nothing to take lightly it affects and effects your daily life in many ways you do not want believe me Its degrading to be constantly wet I hate it ! Flu season is my worst time I get it from both ends and that is not good! Please reconsider your choice to be Incontinent by force or regression training since if you go past the point of no return there is no going back with out drastic action and some may be invasive surgical procedures to regain your continence.. Hope this helps you and others out in your decision making on doing this.

Actually I had wanted to be incontinent for as long as I can remember. I always hated having to go to the potty when I was in the middle of something. While in the military I got hurt bad and did become incontinent. It really isn't that bad even though it is forced on to you. Yes it does take a lot of getting used to, and yes you absolutely have to use the best diapers out there. Of course this does mean it's expensive, but even hobbies can be more expensive than diapers. I like the feeling of being wet, and with good diapers you won't get a minor leak more than once or twice a month. Plus, you'll be changing no more times a day than you'd normally be going to the bathroom, but it will be when you're ready not your bladders.

Is not fun at all. even if the idea sounds awesome. There is some times you would prefer not to wear them.

Very few people can find a plus side to being incontinent. Most will say that it's a disability that impacts their ability to live life to the most comfortable extent possible.
Think about being an incontinent DL, waking up one morning thinking "nah, I don't want to wear", but you have to, you have no choice, and it sucks because it strips the fun and comfort.

I have been urinary incontinent for over four years now and am dependant on pads and nappies. I can't honesty say it has been all that bed. True there are some days worse than others and some days start bad when I have wet very heavily or maybe several times during the night and my nappy couldn't stem the tide and I am laying in a soaking wet bed. There are times when I have been very sore with a rash and of course being incontinent means it can be very uncomfortable as I can't stay dry to let it heal quickly. Thank goodness for sudocreme and Vaseline. I have never been challenged over my nappies in fact no one has ever commented at all.
At first I was paranoid people would notice my pads or nappies but gradually I realised if they do no one cares. I now don't even think about it. I used to be very concious about wetting in pubic. I was always wondering do people know when I am wetting my nappy or pad albeit uncontrollably. Again I don't think anyone does notice.
I have found being incontinent hasn't stopped me doing anything I used to do I just have to plan ahead sometimes. Maybe because I was a chronic bedwetter as a child and throughout my teenage years I am more accepting of it I don't know.

As somebody who suffers from severe incontinence yet still tries to live a busy life with a high flying job and lots of socialising, incontinence can really wreck some fantastic situations.

Some days I wish that I could go without wearing protection, but I know that as soon as I do, I'll probably end up having a nasty accident, wrecking my trousers.
I try and make the best of my situation, hence my small DL streak, but sometimes I really wish that I didn't have to deal with it all the time. It can be a huge mood killer when you need to leave a family meal or halfway during a film because I have filled my nappy and it can sometimes be really awkward when you need to change in public.

Don't forget the total monetary cost of incontinence. I have the misfortune to be double incontinent. The cost is not just disposable diapers, you also must include other items such as cloth diapers, cloth booster pads, disposable booster pads, plastic pants, onesies, compression pants, disposable wipes, barrier cream, medications, absorbent pads, enemas, laxatives, chair pads, etc. It adds up very quickly. The total annual cost of my incontinence is a bit over $7,000 and that does not include doctors' fees! In just a few years, that adds up to the cost of a new car. You do not want to be medically incontinent!
