Sadly, the great majority of us don't have someone to share our hobby with.

My wife supports my diaper wearing but participate much, other than to call me her good baby, that sort of thing. Yeah, if I had to wait to be mommied and diapered, I'd never be wearing. But I surely don't mind putting on my own diaper because I loving to be in diapers, drink from my sippy cup and that goes with it. It's probably what most of us do.
