scanario. the year is 1850 in kyoto, japan, unrest is brewing in the capital, and abroad ever since the recent, and more frequent visits and presence from the west, prompting the Tokugawa shogunate to respond, forming an elite policemans force known as the shinsengumi, who would soon come to be known as the wolves of Mibu
currently, signs are being put up across the city for application.
(i realise some of the dates are inconsistant, as ae some details of the shinsengumi)

The setting is around a dojo like compond in the castle in Kyoto beginning around the beginning of spring, just as the cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom the compound is centred around the dojo hall where outside, numerous practice dummies and tameshigiri (test cutting) mats are set up
To the east of the hall is the main living quarters are located, (for those who are unfamiliar with Japanese living styles the beds are rolled up and stored during the day and the floorspace is used for daytime activities the rolling up, and subsequent rolling out when its time for bed is usually done by servant girls , o0n the walls and, few pieces of permanent furniture, each room contains a small shrine, and also there are wall racks available to be set up for storing weapons.

Bio, appointed by the tokagawa shogunate to head the campaign, he is the child of a Japanese father from a noble samurai line, and a mother who was a minor priness in the ryukyu kingdom, and has inherited the martial skills from both lines, but in particular has taken an unusual likeing to the teppo as opposed to the art of the bow, which he practices anyway through family obligation, and a manner to sharpen his skills. he is also lightning fast with his batto-jutsu draw
