I'm assuming an "archtop" and a "flattop stratbody" are guitars, but I don't actually know. Eric Clapton plays a "Stratocaster", I believe.

Peter Frampton (and Joe Walsh) were the masters of a contraption called a "Heil Talk Box". Frampton uses it to obtain the "talking guitar" effect near the end of the live version of Do You Feel Like We Do. Joe Walsh uses it to obtain sound effects in the bridge of Rocky Mountain Way.
