It said the European Union, whatever that means. My thought is Europe??
The CE mark means that the manufacturer takes responsibility for the compliance of a product with all applicable European health, safety, performance and environmental requirements. CE stands for "Conformité Européenne", the French for European conformity.

Made in EU is a bit like having a made in America sticker, dosent really give anything but a rough indication as to where there made, could be Canada, could be Chile, or anywhere in between.
