Changing places "on the go"

So your out and about, running some errands or the like, and you realize your diaper is done for and you really need a change... what are you putting in your GPS for a nice descrete and clean place for a change?

My go-to is usually Starbucks. They always have single occupancy bathrooms that are relatively clean and the grinding/whirring of the coffee machines and frappe blenders give some nice "cover" for the loud tape rips. They also usually have nice big trash cans to throw used diapers away too.

What's your go-to place?

I wear for comfort, not a medical issue, so I can manage just fine using a bathroom stall as I don’t mind if strangers can hear me untaping my diaper and recognize the sound. 99.9% of my changes are at home though and that’s my preferred place since I have as much space as I need to change comfortably. I’d love to find a place with an adult changing table though, I’m very curious to try one out lol

I have my backpack which is a diaper bag but has a laptop compartment so I use it for my work bag. It looks pretty inconspicuous. As long as i have that with me - pretty much any public restroom with a stall will do. Though I rarely have a diaper that can't handle what I'm doing while I'm out as I generally try to be freshly changed - but not always.

I have also changed in my car. Granted I was in an underground garage so it was dim and no one was around and the cargo area is below window height. It's like a really bizarre game of Twister...but it's very doable.

The place this happens most often is at work. There is a shared (between a few businesses) bathroom for our floor. I will go into a stall and wait for it to be clear...which happens pretty regularly. Then I just do my thing. I wear white medical diapers so it's pretty discreet to dispose of if it's just wet. But generally I have bags with me and I'll tie it up in a bag...this is especially true if it is messy. I try to be discreet, consider others, and certainly consider the custodial staff. I have also taken diapers with me to dispose of at home if it didn't seem appropriate to dispose of in that particular bathroom.

I would employ this strategy just about anywhere comfortably. But I have used single-occupancy bathrooms before and that is a pretty ideal situation. I do like the coffee shop idea...the noise would be good cover to be sure. Nice tip! @PolkaDotDreams

I would need to be over an hour or so from home to not care about loud tapes/multi-stall situations, I'm too worried about running into a friend or family member! An adult changing table would be a game changer for sure.

I haven't changed in public too often but Starbucks and other coffee shops are always the first choice. I also have changed in casino restrooms and don't worry too much since there are plenty of folks with medical issues (or those who don't want to interrupt a lucky streak, I've heard) on the property.

Has anyone had any experience with needing to assist with changing someone else?

That makes sense! :c I wish everyone could feel 100% secure about wearing their diapers and changing them. I'm soooo lucky that I live with my Daddy! I had to move to another state to be with him, so I don't really have to worry about wearing near my family.

Pretty much any single occupancy bathroom stall works just fine.

I have a fairly comprehensive mental map of where there are toilets available day & night, I'd say for about 80% of the country id never be more than 10 minutes from a decent toilet, Eve in the middle of the night.
The only major holes in that are major city centres where there are now almost no public toilets that aren't inside shops or train stations.

Starbucks toilets are ok but I feel strange going into a Starbucks, I don't belong there, I don't have a macbook pro or a tesla, they know I'm not one of them.

Being IC I just hate public bathrooms. I prefer to use my own bathroom but I also have my own office at work and I have a personal bathroom next to my office. If...when i'm near a dangerous leaking zone I'm fine with any good (and clean) public bathroom. Most of the time I try to gauge how wet my diaper is. For changing I use timing. Every 4 or 5 hours I'll change. Sometimes at home or in my personal office. Out in public? To be honest I rarely change when out in public.

Wal-mart, Target and some interstate rest stops, most have family, single stall restrooms with baby changing stations to put your supplies on. I do a lot of traveling by car, and I've had the most success with those places as far as privacy is concerned.

Targets usually has a family restroom ar front of store. Walmart had a family restroom in back of store. Many better malls have family restrooms.
Destiny USA. A mall/entertainment complex in Syracuse NY. They have private family restrooms all over the place.

I usually use Changing places here in UK to get changed or if not available I'll use disabled toilet to change in

I typically have all the single occupancy bathrooms in my area memorized. If I’m out of town, I will look for a Starbucks, a five guys fries, a Panda Express, subway or a Tokyo Joe’s. They all typically have single use bathrooms. If it’s an urgent matter, I just make do with whatever bathroom I can find. Multiuse bathrooms do give me anxiety if I have a mess to cleanup. I am always worried about somebody seeing my messy diaper on the floor while I’m changing.

If I am out in public and I need to change my diaper these are the places I like to use.
  1. Any rest area where they have a family room or a private room to change me
  2. Walmart, they tend to have good restrooms that are convenient and busy to change me
  3. IKEA. It had a really nice family restroom that has plenty of space and a chair to change my diaper in
  4. Bucees. It is the worlds largest service station and convenience mart that have stalls which are like individual private bathrooms to change in that nobody can hear into.
  5. State Parks or beaches. They usually have bath houses to change in
  6. Truck Stops. They usually have showers(Love's I know of) to rent which gives you an individual restroom to change and clean up in if you made a mess. I've used my fair share of these when I go hiking or magnet fishing or just feeling nasty
  7. If all else fails I've done a number of diaper changes in my back seat or trunk of a car.

In the UK I have found the growing number of Changing Places https://www.changing-places.org/ absolutely amazing!
I sure wish they had that in the US. They have adult changing rooms in a few airports, but that's pretty much it. I live in San Francisco, and finding a place that even has a restroom for public use can be tough in some areas. They have some of those sidewalk single occupant automatic restrooms, but they don't maintain them and many have become drug use spots. So frustrating! Sorry, had to vent!

Mostly wear for bed wetting so if I’m earring during the day it’s usually just for fun so I won’t usually wet so much that I need to change. However if I. Travelling I’ll be in a napkgningase I sleep and in that situation it’s usually airport bathrooms or sometimes on the plane if ive had a big accident. But usually make to make it in same nappy until I land

Usually I look for a restaurant or bus station since I don't drive.
