I actually have read that it is a lot better and healthier for you if you get up the first time you wake up. IE. Alarm clock going off. Hitting the snooze button can cause your buddy to act funny for the rest of the day.
Maybe the next morning; instead of laying back down go make breakfast or surf the web. See if that helps.

Since we do home dialysis for my wife, the machine goes off maniacally beeping somewhere between 5:30 and 6, depending when she gets on. I have to go through an involved series of operations to get her off and the machine torn down. Then I head off to the shower. While the steam clears out of the bathroom, I pull up adisc for about 10 minutes. Once upstairs I get dressed and head out to the kitchen where I make my life saving coffee which I take to school. I walk the dog, get the paper, make lunch, say goodbye to wife and off I go where I make people like you miserable all day.....no, not really. I'm nice at school, helping kids with computer problems, etc.

Mornings are not my friend, but I have a system and it works. I can say that from the time I get out of bed until the time I leave the house is about an hour and a half. I know that's long by most peoples standards. I set a series of alarms, some on my phone, which has three, and my alarm clock, which has two. The alarm clock goes off, I get up and turn the coffee maker on, go back to bed and snooze for a bit, phone will eventually go off again, I'll snooze a few times, then I'll eventually get up, get my caffeine fix. Generally go on the net for a few, then the shower, shave, etc. thing, then go have another cup of coffee, get dressed, then out.

Ah, the 'good ole' days of high school. Man, did those ever suck! I love my college. I have never had a class any earlier than 8:30 and I usually schedule my earliest classes for either 9 or 11 nowadays.
It's crazy what the school system expects out of teenagers. I would always have to be out of the house by around 7, so I know what you're going through. When I started high school, I would wake up around 5:30 or so, eat right away, and then just lay down until I had to go to prison... errrrr, I mean... school... I guess .After the first year or so of that, I changed my routine to getting up at 6:30, eating, sitting around for a minute, and then leaving. By the time I was a senior, I had changed it to waking up at 6:45, eating and leaving, lol. (I'm not a morning shower person, btw). Oh, and all four years, I would fall asleep between 11PM and 1AM. Can you say 'sleep deprivation?' When do you have to leave the house? I find that setting the alarm a little later allowed me to 'get up and stay up,' which helped me keep things a little straighter in terms of my sleep/wake schedule. Honestly, try getting up at about 5:30/5:40, charge the hair straightener while you eat, dress, and get ready, then straighten your hair right before you leave. That is, if that will work for you. This should give you a little more time to sleep solidly (instead of zombie sleep), and allow you to do a little multi-tasking. This is one suggestion I have for you. Also, I started taking melatonin to help me fall asleep sooner. It doesn't knock you out, just makes you tired, so you'll feel like sleeping, but won't be 'forced into it.' That worked wonders for me, might help you too, just an idea. Hope this helps you .

When does summer start?!

When I still went to school, I got up at 6:45 to catch the 7:37 bus. And yes, I had breakfast in that time too.
I'm not a time waster in the morning. I usually time my time to wake up in such a way that any extra chore will make me have to run for the tram/bus or cut anything else short. I certainly won't go watching TV or surfing the net if I've got places to be. Peachy

*Wake up an hour before I'm due into uni.
*Sleep and fight with my alarm clock for half an hour. *Get dressed, have a pee, have a drink and watch 2 minutes of news for 10 minutes. *20 minutes to get to the lecture. This is the same regardless of whether I start at 9:00 or 12:00. ![]() I'm not a morning person at all... I really should start eating breakfast again. |

Mornings + me don't work.
It's kind of weird actually. When I was in high school I would get 8 hours of sleep from 10pm - 6am but when I woke up in the mornings I would feel physically sick (no, I wasn't pregnant). However, when I get 8 hours of sleep from 6am - 2pm I'm perfectly fine. Why's that?
